If the US freed all convicts who have only committed non-violent crimes, the US prison population would be more than Germany's prison population per capita.

In Boston, "tonic" is slang for a sweet, non-alcoholic carbonated beverage that most other people in the US either call "soda" or "pop".

Interesting. It wasn't long ago when I thought all Americans called it soda, while all Canadians call it pop. I'm sure the latter is more truthful. :)

I grew up in Illinois and it was called "pop." When I moved east it took me ages to get used to "soda" which to me was the soda you mixed with drinks.

I learned that there has probably been more autistic people throughout time than originally though, but, due to said people exhibiting strange mannerisms & behavior patterns unto the general populace most likely said persons wound up being imprisoned as delusional or worse seen as demonically possessed.

That four people were shot to death in Fredericton yesterday.

That's it. The whole world has gone to hell. I just don't care anymore. I'll just let my brain go numb and be desensitized to the killing and stupidity. Have a nice day.

That is interesting. I'd have thought it'd be Texas :-) for some reason. Ohio!

I can't say this is new information, but I seem to need reminding on a regular basis; I was reminded today that I can trust my own judgement more, and can stop second guessing myself so much.

I've learned that not all places with the lowest cost of living are the greatest places to live especially from a economic & ethnic diversity or crime index.
