Right now I'm collecting sources for my psych paper. I'm having trouble coming up with a few critical questions, though. Would it be all right if I asked y'all for some advice?

Okay, so. For my psychology 101 class, I'm writing a paper analyzing overlaps and disparities between ASD and ADHD. It's supposed to be something relevant to our own experiences--which works, since I was misdiagnosed with ADHD-PI. It was not a great experience, to say the least. Anywho, for our papers, we're supposed to have five "critical thinking questions". I have most of them, but I'm unsure about the fifth. They are:

1. How reliable is the current diagnostic process for ADHD? (May change to "what flaws exist in the diagnostic process for ADHD".)
2. Why are people with ASD frequently misdiagnosed with ADHD?
3. Can ADHD and ASD be comorbid? (The DSM-IV-TR currently prohibits co-diagnosis of ADHD and ASD; there's debate over whether to change this for the DSM-V.)
4. Are inattentiveness and hyperactivity necessarily indicative of ADHD? (This one will discuss sensory processing issues and how they can be misinterpreted as ADHD.)

...and then there's the fifth. I've oscillated between several questions, but all have felt redundant. :\ Man, once I get this question, I can finally get to work. I've written a healthy two-page introduction--now I just need my last question.

The advice I have at the moment is looking into the diagnostic process of ASD and trying to ask a question that can point out of the differences. That's all I have at the moment, I have to go since I'm busy with some things.

Hmm. I'm sort of addressing that with the part about sensory issues and inattentiveness. :S Still not sure. I have a couple options, both of which feel redundant and pointless.

"How can clinicians properly distinguish between ASD and ADHD?" (This might be especially problematic if I later conclude that ADHD and autism aren't mutually exclusive, because this question kinda-sorta implies that someone can't have both at the same time. Maybe if I change it to "How can clinicians properly identify when ADHD is or is not present in a person with ASD?")
"For a person with ASD, what can result from a misdiagnosis with ADHD?" (...probably no journals on this. And the answer is obvious, anyway.)

...and apart from that, I got nothing.

I am SO ANNOYED right now!
