Thank you, AB. We both like the science channel. Maybe, I can do something with that.

He's 23, I'm 65. He is probably from Indiana. I'm from Pacific Northwest. He's fit. I turn to ice cream. I have no idea what kind of music he likes. A third coworker has been trying to get that information from him and failed. We have in common that we both are extremely shy and quiet. I remember he said he does some kind of art with maybe soldering. I thought I could try something like "did you say you work with soldering?" I can't seem to get the words out. There is also a partition in front of me blocking view of coworkers. I just need to say something when I have some confidence or momentum/energy.

I did not want to get to know him better. I just think he feels left out and shunned and I can't seem to come off as welcoming. I want him to feel comfortable here.

That the people who made the movie White Wilderness are f***ing sadists. You know how lemmings commit mass suicide by jumping off cliffs? Well, that's a big fat lie. The a**holes who made the movie thought it would be a good idea to push them off the cliff against their own will! This is exactly why I don't watch any movie that contain animal cruelty.

Well I learned that today 8O 8O

I also learned about how John Langdon, first governor of New Hampshire (1741-1819), actually pretty much started the American revolution by storming Fort William and Mary and taking the king's gunpowder, with one of his men ripping down the British flag. He was also against slavery and paid his servants well. His manservant was even dressed as fine as any gentleman could be, with silver, gold, and silk. He also put in his will for every servant of his house to be paid a sum between $50 to $200 (which would be $1,351.35 to $5,405.41 today) on his death, as well as having them receive brand new mourning clothes so that they could bury him in style. (A bit arrogant, but it seems he did a bit of good for the world)

William "count" basie, aside from having a superbly steady sense of rhythm, early on was taught keyboard fanciness by none other than fats waller. you can hear his early organ and piano stylings in the recordings made by bennie moten's band.

if you're a cheese lover, you are known as a "Turophile." Cheeseophiles can thank the Greeks for this term. "Tyros" means cheese and "philos" means love.

...and if you don't like cheese, you're a tyrophobe.

What's someone who loves hard, crumbly cheese but hates the soft, creamy stuff?

Today I learned:
That failing to make crepes means succeeding to make flavoured and possibly edible sludge
That my little brother thinks that a certain religious holy text, (I won't specify religion,) would sell better if it had pictures
That english rapping sung by Japanese singers, and used as background music in an anime can be strangely awesome
That when your little brother wants a piggyback ride and can't reach unless you bend all the way down, (and you know you won't be able to do that without hurting your back,) bending as far as you think you can and telling him to jump the rest of the way is a good way to get accidentally punched by a very tiny fist right in the eye
