I've learned over the past year, that I don't need to be like the British members in order to be cool. Cool isn't a set of colours on a flag or a time associated with a country. Cool is an attitude that everyone has without realizing it.

Learnt after several thousand posts to general autism discussion, that one can get burned out talking about autism.

If I don't go on WP for one day, I miss about 20 new posts about Trump.

Heck, if I'm WP because I'm in bed at night asleep or something, I miss about 15 new posts about Trump.

There's always going to be that one person who tries to contradict everyone and whet this site is about.

Not from WP, but from videos on the subject of Asperger syndrome that a diagnosis always means having to adjust your expectations downward, that a high functioning person will still never have the things "normal" people have and that we learn in a different and inferior fashion. It's really depressing. I still want to stay positive about my chances in life, even though I'm not that young anymore.

This is when I switch to cat and Denis Istomin videos. I need something nice and positive in my life.

I’d have to respectfully disagree that we learn in an “inferior” fashion.

What may be “inferior” is our suavity within social interactions.

I don't agree with that, either. That is what these videos lead us to believe. A lot of these people seem to be angry people who have given up on life. I don't subscribe to their point of view. However, the learning does seem to be more difficult because it came later. With more practice, it wouldn't have been so difficult.

Why NT's conflate ASD with mental retardation.

I don't find that people conflate Asperger's-like autism with Mental Retardation.

They usually conflate classic, nonverbal autism with it, though.
