There's 3.76 litres per US gallon.

I remember when gas was $4.55 a gallon! Usually, in the UK, it's a little more than twice as costly as in the US.

But we're spoiled, I suppose (hence, "First World Problem") :P

You're probably somewhere in the South.....

Like 3-4 years ago, I got gas in South Carolina for about $1.77 a gallon.

Hey Marknis, How much is gas where you are?

We're in the $2.40's-$2.50's in the NYC area. A little lower out on Long Island.

How much is your gas price kortie? nevermind ^

No matter what it costs I'll be glad to drive again and stop paying Uber for every trip I've taken in the past four years!

I've never seen petrol this low in the UK.

On my first trip to the UK, in 1996, it was about $8.00 a gallon.

I remember paying $8.81 USD during a shortage and that was many years ago when the exchange rate was likely higher too.

That would be price gouging. Probably illegal.

The most expensive gas I've seen is $2.69 a gallon. And that's on the highway.

I paid something like $4 the last time I was in California which would have been 2010.

It was around .99p a litre 2-3 years ago ( $3.72 a gallon )

At one point, the Pound was over $2.00. That was in 2007.

It was $2.11 in November, 2007.

Before the Pound became "decimalized" in 1971, it was frequent for it to be $4.00 or so.

I can believe that. But, alas, I didn't go there then. But you forgot to multiply that by the exchange rate. Which was about $1.25 right after the Brexit vote. So it's 3.72 pounds times about 1.25. That equals $4.65. Still exceptionally cheap for the UK.

It was under $2.00 in many places 2-3 years ago. There were some places in NYC that went slightly under $2.00.

I missed out on those cheap prices a couple years ago because I couldn't drive then.

Shall we count the days until I drive? ... five more sleeps if all goes well!!
