So I guess you would need something like a chair mounted on a tank to not tip over while hiking. You need a monster powerchair. ;)

You really know your stuff. Have you ever thought about becoming a powerchair salesman?

if you look at my website http://www.alinssite.info and click About Me i plan to become a powerchair dealer :D

Tank chair is usable by people with very low end disabilities or who are just aged and cannot walk long distances... it is NOT designed for people with high end disabilities (me) who require tilt systems and other higher end positioning and seating systems.

That thing looks like a nightmare on treads. It's like what a disabled pirate would use.

That's a bummer! Customs is annoying. I can't wait to see a video of your powerchair when you get it. :thumright:

the back support looks terrible, you have very little to no lateral support, no independent suspension... hell i'd rather you get a high end powerchair... at least your getting proper CoG programming and independent 3 zone suspension (center rear front)

Yes, you wouldn't want to use it everyday. You would just keep it in the garage until you needed it. For example, I think bullies would think twice about bothering you if they saw you rolling up in that thing. It's like the SUV of powerchairs. :)

i would never be able to use that at any time due to the fact i would just fall off to the sides or front due to my heavily impaired to non existant ability to hold myself up. hence a complex seating and positioning array is required in my case

Think of it this way, most sports cars are small and unsafe, but people drive them and put untold hours into taking care of them. Why? Because they look "cool." They turn heads, and so would the tank chair.

That's too bad. Oh, well, the kind of powerchair you are getting looks like a mean machine, too.

well i could care less about "cool" cuz in my sense the high end stuff is "cool" :D and on top of being "cool" you get the highest end of seating and positioning systems including specialized spinal preservation systems (a.k.a custom moulded seating) along with tilt systems that go every which way, elevation systems, elevating leg rests (a.k.a electric ottoman)

That sounds pretty good, too. Does your current chair have any of those perks?
