Have you ever tried licorice root?

I am intrigued..

Well it looks like this:

http://www.healthysupplies.co.uk/liquor ... t-50g.html

but mine didn't look like that. Mine were chopped up and looked like wood chippings but I can't remember where I bought it from. You boil it in water and it makes this incredibly sweet drink.

I don't know if it would have the same effect on everyone or if it was only because it messed with my blood sugar. I have hypoglycemia and I bought some because it is meant to be good at "re-balancing the adrenal glands" and it gave me a wonderful high and I felt so happy I was jumping and skipping and laughing and bouncing around. But then afterwards, I feel AWFUL. It's called a spike and a crash.

I don't know if normal people would experience those effects, or only people with abnormal blood sugar. Nonetheless, it's YUMMY. I wasn't expecting it to taste at all nice. I thought licorice was that horrid bitter black stuff, but that's fake licorice candy flavoured with aniseed. Real licorice root is yummy and sweet.

Here is a crazy man explaining to you why he thinks that you should always carry licorice root in your backpack:

Hello. I understand we don't get to talk much because I live where the time is much later than yours.
