I got the first layer of paint onto two sides of the house yesterday, and the new colors look great this morning.

I spoke to my parents and sisters on the phone for more than 2.5 hours. It was fun. My sister will buy my favorite lemon cookies for me while they are available so that I can have them when I visit them in September.

Today my parents and I celebrated my mom's birthday by going shopping at the mall, and then going out to a Chinese food buffet for supper. My mother really liked the hot-pink silicone oven mitts I bought for her, and my dad got her a new suitcase that is very colorful and as all kinds of iconic Canadian stuff all over it. When my mother goes on her next trip it won't be hard for others to see what country she's from. :) I bought a few things for myself, as usual. I bought a really cute plushie of a female fox with hot pink fur. I also found a couple of new t-shirts that were on sale. One of them is a black-and white image of Grumpy Cat with the big NO. The other is a photographed image of a giant kitten breathing fire on the Earth.

My mom also says my brother has come home for the week. I really hope I'll get to see him. He and his wife are visiting her parents first, so maybe I will come down to see him at our parents' next.

I am enjoying my morning coffee. I think it is time for a refill.

I've had a rough week----anxiety, and not sleeping well----and, although I still didn't sleep that well, last night, at least, I'm not in a bad mood, again, this morning.

I woke up at 9:30 this morning, two hours later than usual, and my son woke up at the exact same time. My husband had already fed the dogs on his way out of the house this morning and I was free to leisurely make a cup of pumpkin spice coffee and sit on the couch.

This ice cream shop attendant that I hadn't seen there for a year or two was working there again today. I didn't speak to him as I was in a hurry but he waved at me and I waved back.

I got a job interview next week as a page at a library in Brooklyn. I checked it out today with my mom, and it is an amazing environment. And it is only two minutes away from the zoo, where I used to work.

That's EXCELLENT news, Witch'sCat, AntDog, and JustKillingTime!!

Even though the air conditioner on the bus, that I took downtown today, was broken, and it was hotter on the bus, than it was outside; and, even though it took so long to catch a bus back home, that my milk soured (because it's so hot, out), and I had to stand, half-the-way, I didn't get shot, and made it home, safely----and, for that, I'm truly grateful!

I got to give a drink to a spider wasp, and got to have a dragonfly sit with me for a bit.
