I think I slept straight through the entire night, all 7.5 hours. This is the first time I slept without waking up in over 3 years.

A tropical storm has finally arrived. The rain feels great. Tomorrow the land will be green.

It's raining! Sodden brown grass makes a change from crispy brown grass.

I managed to come home without having to use my umbrella. Today was supposed to be a showery and stormy day.

That bank appointment wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be (except for that 3 year rate thing; it's not as bad as I thought it'd be and I have a good chance of negotiating a new rate when it ends). Anyway, I have conditional pre-approval 8).

Now to find time to clean the house for the valuer man in between studying :|

For the first time in my life, neither my parents, nor any other family member or acquaintance, know where I am with an uncertainty less than twenty kilometres. Moreover, seldom has that uncertainty been effectively greater than a hundred metres in the eight years preceding the current one. Those are the years during which I lost what was left of my young adulthood and, with it, almost all my potential of ever doing anything worthwhile to justify my existence, let alone living an interesting life.

I'm about twice as old as I think the proper "for the first time in my life" age is, and I don't really feel independent. Besides, this illusion of independence rests on shaky ground and can be gone at any time, not to mention how morally objectionable it is. I'll try to take advantage of it as a stepping stone to real independence. My purely selfish mission for the next seven days is of critical importance in this regard, and not preparing it was very foolish of me. Still, it's time to fight, as there's no sensible alternative.
