it is a specific form of annikanid - a member of the phylum annikanidie, characterized by their common ancestry (descended from annikak), and their incredibly powerful and well developed sense of vision, plus a degree of clairvoyance in some. [NnI] is the heillese root for words relating to sight and vision, derived from annikak's name.

an ixeannite annikanid (from Iexen "love" + Anni "see") is characterized by compound eyes made of thousands of long, thin ommatidia resembling fiber-optic cables, and clairvoyant abilities. this is in contrast to the other major group, alpelinde, those eyes are more similar to ours and are composed of lenses, but no clairvoyant abilities

a prosannid ixeannite annikanid (from Proi "front" + Anni "see") is characterized by having their compound eye in the front of their face, as opposed to the top like the tatannites (Tat, "top")

so, they're (kinda) clairvoyant, their eyes are made of fibers and they have it in the front of their faces. this one, specifically, had some dirty pants on and some smudges on her face.
