SilentOne, that's awful about your boss. :( The job doesn't seem worth all those panic attacks and meltdowns either, especially if they'd be better in other environments. Also, I hope you've managed to enjoy the holidays despite your illness. Hugs.

Thanks, DataB4. I had a decent holiday in spite of everything.

Hoping that next year's films will be better.

LOL thanks.

Nothing new just... lots of pressure. Very busy, and I've been working every day so it's constant sensory input, constant socialisation. I didn't get enough time to recuperate, it has built up, and here I am. Shattered to pieces.

That sounds awful, so I hope your off hours now will help some.

That's more serious than being tired, overwhelmed, or in sensory overload though. That makes me think of either:
Extreme sleep deprivation,
Extreme hunger, starvation, or dehydration, or
A psychotic breakdown

Please take care of yourself if you can! I'm sure things can get much better than that!

Wow... on a lighter note:

I never reply to texts on time, people expect you to get back to them right away but why? As long as it's not urgent they can wait; text is really invasive, it lets people step right into your day and demand something of you.
That is a very skewed idea of text conversation lol, I know, but I really do find it quite stressful.

I agree with you. There really are too many people out there who would like nothing better than to have their texts invade your day, right now right now right now. Too many people stop what they're doing and pick up the phone when it beeps, all the time, without even thinking about it. What happened to intense focus, where you get so involved in something you lose track of time/block out your surroundings somewhat? Or maybe I'm biased. Maybe I experience that state too often.

Honestly I think it's a combination of all three. I always have the potential for psychosis but by neglecting food and sleep I really let it thrive. I will make a conscious effort to take better care of myself this week, I have to or I don't know where I'll end up.
Well, I have a good idea actually, and I'd rather avoid it.
I need to get a better work/life balance, I find it very hard to switch between the modes (I think that's Autism). If I have work in the afternoon, I must be in work mode all morning, so it's mentally exhausting.

I read quite an interesting study where students' test scores were lowered by the mere presence of a cellphone in the room with them. They're just distracting, I think they keep us on edge, some more than others.
I experience that intense focus too, probably too much if I'm honest lol.

^It seems like you might be going through a bit of what I went through at university. If all of this is so exhausting and draining, why are you doing it? What brings you joy?

Why am I doing it? 3 reasons:
-money
-forces me to socialise, I wouldn't otherwise
-work ethic. I have a good work ethic, drive and skills. If I don't work I feel restless.

What brings me joy?
Feeling accomplished. I get this sometimes from work.
Being creative. This has no place at work for me.

What I really need is a job in the Arts, but that won't happen around here. Until I finish my degree, I think I'm doing as well as I could hope. I just wish it wasn't so destructive. :|

^I'm an artist, and I have painted many paintings. I'm hoping to sell them at some point.

^ Me too. If I want to make money off it, I have to share.

I never used to have a problem sharing my work, I know exactly why I have one now.
The cause is identified; I can overcome it. :ninja:

I'm wondering if my eyes could go blind from staring at a screen so much these past 3 months on and off, and thinking that might not be so bad. :ninja:
