I really find it weird that after years on WP I only get mentioned about twice here among all these pages, that's worse than real life lol.

It's either I really suck at leaving a trace in people's minds or just because I am not as active in random section.

and for those who never mentioned me before here, don't mention me now just because of this post, it's too late :P.

No, it's because you're a bit of a gobby bugger who probably has high enough self-esteem not to need the admiration. ;)

I'd actually imagine you to be a relatively successful chap, Boo. :)

I think that would depend on what exactly you're homebrewing (i.e. how much effort is required and that). And you're right about very strong beers - with a lot of them you perhaps only want half a pint or less as the flavours become overwhelming by that stage in any case.

I'd love to meet you any time as long as it isn't more than an hour's drive away from where I live. London's a bit too far for us to come and I don't have any plans to visit the place either.

You might get the chance, I'm really leaning towards doing a UK roadtrip next spring (business permitting of course, otherwise I might be looking for a bridge in Aliso Viejo to sleep under...)

And I'll show you Lancashire, the place where every meal is cooked in lard and every married man worth his salt comes home from work expecting tea on the table, then goes out to t'pub, downs fifteen pints, walks home and beats up t'wife. ;)

That's Yorkshire.

Lancashire is scary matriarch country. Well at least Manchester is - it's a place where you don't get your dad or big brother to 'sort someone out' - you get your scary-ass Mum/Mam. This is sometimes some orange-skinned women who smokes 60 cigs a day and swears like a squaddie.

In my defence, I don't live far from Yorkshire here in the Ribble Valley.

It's not quite as bad as all that but I understand where you're coming from.

True.

I never knew some short-arsed Lebanese bloke off an autism forum was actually my real dad though. Funny, as I do have slightly brown skin on my arms...

You're so sweet Makayla. :) Who knows maybe we will in a few years. You live in the same state as AA don't you? I think Sylkat and TEGH would be cool to meet as well. :)

I wanted to say this. Teq only wanted to meet me because he assumed I was wealthy (because he had heard through TenPencePiece, that I know someone who is) and he thought I could easily supply him with one of his special interests, beer (but beer from America).

Do you think that everyone you meet has ill-intentions toward you or something? I'm afraid you have the wrong end of the stick. I really couldn't give a toss whether you're rich or poor, old bean.

I just suggested that if you come over that perhaps we could trade beers if you enjoy beer - some of my - local! - British ales for your American craft-brewed beers sort of thing. For instance, there's a new microbrewery in Preston (less than 10 mies away from me) that produces lots of craft-brewed bottled ales for sale, all under 5% and in the British tradition, so you have beers like Lancashire Mild, Ice Maiden, Dishy Debbie and Golden Guild. I fancy taking a look down Greenbank Lane (where the brewery is) this next week and taking a wee look at their brewery shop. We have loads of breweries around here so I'm sure I could more than send you packing with traditional British ales. :)

That's actually NOT what you were suggesting. You made NO mention of trading beers.

Also, on my 'homophobic' comments: if being guilty of making crude and infantile jokes about gay anal sex is the definition of a homophobe, rather than actively fearing, hating or simply disliking gays then I certainly fit the former definition. Whether I fit the latter one is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose. My humour is definitely rather jejune on that score but you're looking for homophobia there's plenty of it about but not much here. There's far more worthy targets like those "Islamic" countries that stone gays simply for being gay.

I probably forgot to mention it but yes, that's what I meant. It wouldn't be a problem. And if you were coming over, I'd happily pay you for what you'd brought if there were no trade involved.

Some of the beers you're after might not be especially easy to get, mind you like strong milds (these sometimes surface at beer festivals) but I'm sure something could be arranged. You give me high gravity American style stuff and I can sort you out British old ales and porters.
