I remember my brother used to say "holy mackerel!" and my mother would yell at him for blaspheming.
I asked her what blaspheming was and she said "taking the Lord's name in vain".
Which confused the hell outta me because as far as I knew the Lord's name wasn't Mackeral.

Mackerel can be caught at the pier, they are bottom feeders and have a bad rep.

I don't understand what is wrong in having a taste for bottoms?

Mackerel is not bottom feeders. I have fished many mackerels (there, I got to brag of my fishing)

But that ruins your bottoms joke though :P

Someone needs to go bottoms, I suppose.

Mackerel have been described to me as gamey-tasting.
They tasted like fish to me.

Mackerels are delicious! I have salt and pepper on the fillets and then turn them in flour before I fry them. Then I take the fillet out of the pan and add more margarine, sour cream and a little chives to the pan to make a sauce. In addition I have boiled potetoes and carrots.

Sounds delicious except for the margarine part.

The damn ice storm. Sunday morning is supposed to be bad.

They canceled the Chiefs kickoff time because the streets will be too treacherous. I may not make it home!

actually, isopods might have some interesting courtship rituals.

or they might just broadcast spawn, but i'm not so sure if that's common among arthropods. seems to be the realm of bivalves and poriferans.

What's a mackerel other than the phrase "Holy Mackerel!"?

Oh no, mine is one from the Tenth Doctor era. That one sounds awesome though!

I'd love to play a Doctor Who tabletop, online or in person. :)
