I think I found Mimikyu's inspiration! I started watching an old cartoon from Finland called The Moomins. The main antagonist is The Groke, this big blob of purple. She freezes anything she toutches, and, if she stands in one spot for too long, plants can't grow on that spot of ground. She's only the bad guy because she can't stop killing everything. She wants friends and warmth and love, but she just can't get it. May I add, if she wasn't all cartoonish, she would probably look terrifying.

Mimikyu's Sun Pokedex Entry: Its actual appearance is unknown. A scholar who saw what was under its rag was overwhelmed by terror and died from the shock.

Nobody said that the Mimikyu kill everything they touch or kill anything they stand on, but dear Rotom did say that they look horriffying under that Pikachu costume. So what if Miss Groke decided to cover herself with a Pikachu halloween costume and that's Mimikyu?

That's a well thought out theory. I think that having a monster inside is a very common theme across cultures and shows. You may find other characters that are similar in other places too.

I would like to get out of the house today, but I'm not sure what I could do, especially on my own.

Wondering what I could possibly wear on Wednesday that does not cover my left arm, but does stop me from freezing to death. At this rate I might simply snip off the left sleeve off one of my thickest January jumpers.

The whole island is a prison, so there doesn't live anyone out there that are not a part of that system. Also I think Bastøy, which is the name of the island is not the first prisen you come to. I remember my brother had spent some time in regular prisen first, before he applied to go there. I found a couple of links that provides more information about the prison system in Norway. I think you can trust these links, but I haven't read through them completly.

On your last question about the broader culture and how nonviolence came to be. I don't know. I havn't reflected much about it, and can't remember anything spesific we learned about it in school either. My favorite subjects in school was science and mathematics.

I finished the semi-final drafts of Book I and II!
Now all I have to do is finish up the ending and connect all of the plot threads together.

Norway's system is truly amazing. By comparison, the U.S. has largely given up on its prisoners. Our prison system is a well known failure, so I'm sure we could learn from Norway's system. It actually makes sense for this island to be the final step before being released, as the article says. If they plan to release prisoners, it's only logical to make sure they can handle the freedoms and responsibilities of island life.

^I've been re-writing it and editing it for four years. I've had enough, and now I'm mostly sick of it all.

Omg, I was without wifi for half an hour, and just the thoughts that went through my head as I thought I might go all night without internett. I have nothing to do in my apartment. I don't have much to read, I have a book on birds and a couple of similar books, and I have instructions manuals. Since I don't want to draw or paint the interior of the apartment, I can't really do that either.
