I personally prefer pencils on the B side. I use HB, 2B, 4B and 6B. I also use 2H

The walls in my bathroom will be covered with some kind of fiberglass that is made especially for bathrooms. I think they use much glue of a waterproof type. In the end they use a paint that has been approved for bathrooms. This will make a waterproof surface, as I will be showering directly on it.

To find out what you can do to waterproof wood, I would google it first and read up on what you find. Then I would contact the stores that sells the materials and talk to them too. But I guess you didn't need this advice.

i swear on HB, H, 2H, and 4H. 3H less often, B on very special occasions.

they're a mix of different brands - artist's loft, faber castell and derwent - and it seems like there's some difference between the 2Hs of those brands. or maybe i'm imagining it.

at least when i tried it, drawing with anything harder then B made an overly glossy picture i didn't like. of course...the Hs have the tendency to etch deep into the paper, leaving trails an eraser can't remove. win some, lose some.

Trails that an eraser can't remove, can make some nice effects. Maybe it gives the drawing a freer expression. I don't like the glossy "look" either, but I want the darker shades the Bs give. To avoide the glossyness is why I use charcoal more often then pencils.

hmm...maybe they can. they were just a nuisance when i got them, leading me to frantically find ways to mend the paper, but i can totally see how that could add nice effects - a bit of texture.

i have a small charcoal set i've only used a couple of times since high school, that's when i last took them seriously. perhaps it's worth training myself to use them better....?

though it's much more loose then pencil. would need a kind of fixative.

^If you do decide to give charcoal another go. A tip is to sharpen it on fine sandpaper. That way you can achieve fine details.

I know Lillie leaves Alola at the end of Sun and Moon but I haven't gotten to that point yet, but I wanna wait until I do to add this to Rainbow. Until then... well, what do you think?

"Lillie! Lillie wait!" The blonde looked up from her book at the familliar yet breathless sounding voice and poked her head over the edge to look at her Kantonese friend. "I... I went to Claire's..." Mitsuko gasped, still trying to recover from running from one side of Hau'oli City to the other. "And I got friendship bracelets for us! Here, catch!" She ripped one from the packaging and tossed the sparkly pink bracelet, trying to ring the stern of the ship from the dock.

Due to Mitsuko's poor aim, it missed, landing in the water. Lillie looked down at the bracelet then up at Mitsuko with a toutched yet disheartened expression.

Suddenly, Nebby burst from Lillie's pink backpack. "Wh... Nebby!?" Lillie protested. The small nebula pokemon swooped down and grabbed it out of the water, then came back up to give it to Lillie. Smiling bittersweetly, she clasped it around her wrist as Mitsuko did the same, right above her Z-bracelet. Tears in both girl's eyes, they waved each other goodbye. "Sayonara, Lillie!" Mitsuko called into the growing distance.
"I'll.. I'll never forget you!" Lillie exclaimed.

Maybe you should make a thread for it. Perhaps in the art and writing forum, or in your own thread in Off the Wall.
