Five-day weekend! Woot woot!

I am on my easter vacation.

I have been in complete stress and panic mode about my financial problems this week. I needed to transfer some money from an old "emergency" savings account which I've not used for years into my current account - but the personal details on the savings account were hopelessly out of date. Without that transfer, I would be unable to buy food by this time next week. As usual, I left everything to the last possible moment, as I loathe dealing with the bank.

I went to the bank today to meet with the manager there. For the first time ever with an organisation like this, I made clear that I am autistic from the outset. She was absolutely wonderful with me. She went out of her way to make me comfortable in a private room, sorted out the problem while carefully explaining every step of the process, and I came away with an agreement that will get me through the next couple of months.

At the end of the meeting, I tried to thank her for her kindness, and immediately burst into floods of tears. She got me a coffee, and said that I could take as long as I needed alone in the room until I could face going back into the public area.

Wow! I'm crying again now just writing about it. She was a perfect example of how things can be done to make officialdom easier to deal with for autistic people, and I shall be writing a letter of praise to her superiors.

I got my plushies of both Shadow the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat from Amazon today. They both look great and came sooner than I expected.

Parents are gone for a few days meaning me and my siblings have the house to ourselves.
