Well if your aspie and "love" animals and your not vegan your a disgusting hypocrite. Specisim is not something l'll never ever understand, I guess all animals are equal though some animals are more equal than others right ?

And why wouldn't you go vegan , made with love and care it's tastier and more healthier than almost any omnivorous foods that are available out their. I made some delicious muffins the other day (6 standard muffins) I now know how to make them correctly :D now you can try these tricks in your baking.

6 muffins :

50 % "OO" flour (with a pinch of bicarb) "oo " is is softer BTW

50 % SR flour

1 ripe banana it add a nice sweet flavour and keeps the muffins nice and moist.

vanilla extract (to taste)

50 % soy milk

50 EV olive oil (much healthier and tastier than tha "vegie" oil that's out their.)

100 grams of 70 % Lindt dark chocolate cut roughly into "chips"

You want the batter to be quite thick .

Cook in really really hot oven 200 C + only for a couple of minutes turn off and leave in oven till it's cools.

Their, moist and delicious muffins. :D

Oh and I use those plastic mould muffin tins I don't use the metal ones they scratch , rust and stick.

And why on earth would you want to drink the secretions of another animal eew

I am sorry Aussiebloke, you just proved why i can't realistically be a full veganin Australia. I REFUSE TO USE PALM OIL! I use only local goats and sheeps milk cheeses and purely vegan alternatives for other products.

Well as disagreeable as it may sound I have little concern for the orangutan, theirs a"band wagon" that has got on to this one is their evidence that Palm oil is more environmentally destructive than say soy ? Know matter what oil we use pristine forests in sub to tropical regions of South America or SE Asia will be cleared to grow seed oils.

I guess I could go 100 % olive oil though what would happen if everyone went down this route ? I suppose it would be preferable to seed oil I suppose :? actually I might take this option due to greedy farmers and interests groups many seed oils are now at parity price to EV olive oil 8O , their was a time (in this country at least ) ev oil was very expensive . Oh also thanks to EU dumping = cheaper EV olive oils etc , if they want to subsidise my food go right ahead :D though I suppose I've got it all wrong :?

I was going to say Bacon. But, truth be known I am just too darn lazy to be vegan.

I don't eat LOTS of meat.. I try to limit it, but I don't see a reason to cut it out completely. There doesn't need to be a real line between vegan/vegetarian/normal, I think. It's like how you can cut way back on consuming plastic products without going totally non-plastic.
It's just so inconvenient, to cut out rampantly common things like meat or plastic you have to change huge parts of your life and opt out of so many things. (like it could even go as far as opting out of having a job, if jobs are scarce and the only ones you can find are ones that go against your lifestyle requirements) I think all of society needs to work on moderation together. One person struggling to live an extremist lifestyle won't help much. Luckily I think it is happening. I see small changes every day. My city just started a composting program. These small steps don't always seem super-effective but I think it will add up.

I get physically ill if I don't eat meat. Also to much raw vegetables in my stomach makes me sick. I like a well balance omnivore diet with meat, cooked veggies and fruit. I can handle a little salad, but to much = a very bad day :(

We've eaten meat sense the caveman days. There are two kinds of animals; predators & prey. Predators eat meat & the prey eat vegetables. The lion is the king of the animals because it eats meat. Humans are the most dominate & powerful species so we are supposed to eat meat

Because I love animals.

That's why I like to eat 'em.

I think I am protecting the environment by eating meat. I am saving plants by not eating em & by eating cows I am saving the oxygen producing grass from being eaten & I'm stopping the cows from releasing C02.

Actually, you're responsible for the consumption of more plants as a meat eater than you would be as a vegan, because you are not only responsible for the plants that you eat, but also the plants that the animals which you eat eat.

Milk does involve death. To produce milk the cow must get pregnant. When the children are born, they are taken away from their mother. Males are killed pretty much immediately and females are either raised for meat, or for the same fate as their mother. The cow is kept in a constant cycle of pregnancy, so she can constantly produce milk. This is seriously damaging to her. When her body becomes too worn out to produce milk she is killed. Milk is not cool in your books.

Because they taste good, that's why. Temple Grandin invented tons of ways to humanely slaughter animals, and even reduce there stress. I say use them and let me eat my steak.

First post, BTW. Hi.

The people who truly believe the phrase "humane-slaughter" is anything but mind-boggling are never,
I've noticed,
lining up for the process themselves.

I'm an ethical vegan of five years.
There's no magical nutrient found only in animal products, let alone only in meat,
nor is there any ethically-relevant justification to apply to commodification, torture, and killing of non-human animals that does not also apply to human beings (and before we get to herp-derping about a difference in species, let's try to recall some other instances in history where arbitrary differences between groups has been used to justify their horrendous treatment).

It's grossly, repugnantly, absolutely LETHAL to the environment.

There's absolutely no reason for it other than "I'm used to it, and chemically-addicted to it."

Someone who doesn't think there are any VEGETARIAN options in restaurants have never eaten out with me.
Being vegan, I've ordered a table full of food at STEAKHOUSES and been the envy of cowboy-hat wearing passers-by.

Is it tasty? It would seem to me most humans are repelled by the taste of meat, hence the constant need to cook it slathered in spices, breading it, disguising it between two buns with some cheese, drowning it in BBQ or steak sauce, grilling it with marinade, etc.

The amount of protein generally-recommended for women is readily-found in one cup of parsley, three cups of lentils, or a dozen other foods.

Iron is found in dark leafy greens which are recommended anyway.

Cooked meat is tasty. Besides, many people do go with mid term cooking, and other methods that are closer to the original taste of meat. It doesn't matter though, if you like the flavor of something only when it is cooked, it means you should cook it, not that you should stop eating it.

Just because you are a vegetarian it doesn't mean people don't naturally like meat.

Yes. All of that is simply delicious. I would be a miserable vegan/vegetarian as I would be denied all the foods I love. Sure, I would be skinny and attractive in the matter of months but I wouldn't be happy. D:

Maybe that's why my observations had absolutely nothing to do with my being vegetarian?

The vast majority of people rarely if ever eat plain, unseasoned, unsauced, unbreaded meat.

The implication being that you wouldn't discover new foods to love?

As an obese vegan of five years, I can assure you, not eating animal products doesn't guarantee thinness.
