Having a smoking section in a restaurant is kind of like having a peeing section in a swimming pool. It just doesn't work.

Gas stations, where they pumped the gas, checked your oil and washed the windows.

I miss those days. Many also had mechanics that could change your oil and do minor repairs to the vehicles.

Also, the other day I remembered that as a boy the doctor's office had ashtrays in the Waiting Room. I mean, I'm a smoker and yet when I remembered that I was like: WTF?

Oh, yeah----and, I totally remember smoking being allowed in hospitals, as well----even, patients could smoke in their rooms!!

It's so funny that you mentioned this, when just yesterday I read where there's actually TWO states in the Union that don't ALLOW "Self-serve" gas stations----one of them was New Jersey, I think; and, I can't remember what the other state is. Isn't that WILD?

Yeah, they still have a couple of gas stations like that, around here----where they have a mechanic that can do all kinds of stuff----even state inspections----but, they're EXTREMELY few-and-far-between!!

Someone may have already posted this but there used to be cigarette vending machines on corners and outside stores. I remember packs sold for 35 cents.

Ooo, that's a GOOD one----no, I don't think anyone's mentioned that, yet. I totally remember those----I don't remember them being 35 cents, though; maybe, 65 or 75.....

Cars with no place to plug certain things in like cell phone chargers. The cigarette lighter being just that, a cigarette lighter.

Coffee cups from coffee shops that don't warn you that the coffee is hot.

Pagers also known as beepers.

Oregon is the other state.
