On my mind is how annoying game shows can be in this day and age. It seems like the most annoying contestant is the one that always wins. Also on my mind is how annoying social media is. On my mind is how I wish I could pick up my family and transport us back to the 1970s. I know there were problems back then, but it seemed so carefree and magical in ways. Music was incredibly interesting then. And the amusement park industry was going through a revival as the roller coaster was making a comeback.

You should look up game shows from the 70s. You won't be impressed. Also I've just been thinking about my s**t time management and about Aspergers.

I'm watching Nova: Secrets of the Sky Tombs. Between this, and another show I saw recently about the vampire legend worldwide, I have started to think people have it wrong. We didn't start burying our dead out of reverence, or some deep love; all our death rituals have their origins in fear, but over time we changed our perspective.

I wish I had something sweet and fizzy to drink. That doesn't surprise me, because I'm sweet and fuzzy.

Both are true I think. :)

Yeah, I only realized recently that the song was about stalking and wondered how I missed it. Also, what's all the code for with the Youtube link? What's a VGLink?

In some cases, existing religions colonize and absorb local practices. There's evidence that Buddhist missionaries found ways to reframe defleshing in the Himalayas. The details changed, but the basic practice long predates their arrival, and even persists today.

So, now they say it to encourage enlightenment or favorable rebirth, since there's no way the spirit will get confused and try to reinhabit the corpse. It's nothing but putting a nice spin on the old reason, which was simply to keep the corpse from walking around and hassling the living.

I wonder how things would have turned out if my family had more money than we did back in those days when I was taking those special classes due to an apparent speech impediment.

Jrjones, interesting, I didn't know that defleshing is a Buddhist practice, but anyway, the fear and the reverence are both present in that practice, even if it may not seem reverent to us.

I am curious about the origins of semi-mythical beings [called Sereners] in the book I am writing. I will endeavor to find out more.

I get easily flustered when work gets exceedingly busy.

Don't get me wrong, I would prefer for my remains to be handled in that way. Not for religious, but for practical reasons. I'd love it if my skull was made into a drinking vessel, and my thighbones made into trumpets. That, sadly, is probably not to be.

It was practiced in Tibet, and is still practiced where feasible (in remote areas) in Nepal.

We've seen lately that people respond more to fear than to inspiration. Just sayin'.
