What sort of work do you want to do?

It's a question, that I don't feel is easy for me to answer but, regardless I shall in a sincere & straightforward manner. I'm very good with computers though, I'm not a software developer nor computer or anything comprehensive of that nature. Rather, I'm good with being able to put a computer system together given access to parts and time to do such. However to have a career in said field one must now have not only certification but, a tier 3 degree in computer science. Many years back I had taken a course to become such a person yet, I failed the certification exam though, through no fault of my own rather, due to the fact there were questions that were not covered in the classroom nor in the book itself at all.

I was not the only one in this course that had come across this major discrepancy however, the course director/test administrator refused to make any accommodations even on a minute level.

Therefore, these days, I've found myself simply wandering from dead end job to dead end job hoping that I'll become very good at when in fact, I have absolutely no fascination or fondness of the field nor work that I do. Honestly, I wish there was companies out there that would actively hire autistic persons for a multitude of positions and use all of those persons abilities 110% not just place someone or pigeonhole someone into a specific career and that is it and nothing more attitude by some companies and people.

It sounds like you were really let down on that exam; it is horrible to think that a discrepancy like that could have such an effect on your life and happiness. I read in some of your other posts that you've applied for jobs with personality tests. That is very strange, I've not come across that in the UK. I would be very interested to know what types of questions they ask you. Could you fake the answers (i.e. to make yourself sound more sociable) in order to get to the interview stage? I hope you find a position where your skills and intelligence are appreciated and utilised, I'm sure there must be some companies out their who can see the potential in you :).

Thanks Miss racheypie66, I do feel there are business that really would choose to hire autistic persons and not just cause it looks good from a socially acceptable standpoint but, rather choose to employ people based on their overall benefits and unique skills which can help their organizations. Now, as it pertains to personality tests, more specifically some companies even in the UK though, not all use what is referred to as a online questionnaire. But, by all accounts it's really a personality test in disguise Truthfully speaking. Many businesses use it nowadays under the false assumption that they will improve their profits by being able to weed out possible job candidate whom potentially might be less productive in a multitude of ways.

These career candidate assessment tests as their often referred to as came from 2 specific psychological diagnostic tools that were to determine if one should clear traits or factors of possible serious mental disorders from a clinical research standpoint. However the criteria used in them have been altered/adapted by businesses to use to screen out people whom simply don't fit in with that company or it's corporate culture, business attitude etc. Personally, I find them to be a bunch of B^&*($%^. Though from a clear psychological research perspective their useful but, using them in a manner which there were not designed for, well That's crap.

I had a very hard day at work, extremely busy and stressful. Eventually I got a kind of adrenaline rush that got me through, but it took me a full hour to calm down when I got home 8O .

Deleted your WP posts you mean? I saw your one about work, I thought it was nice (also jealous you got to listen to music there, I would love to be able to do that!).

Otherwise fair play, that is one hell of a series of unfortunate events right there :( Doesn't help that you are ill too, that must be pretty wretched. I hope you have something positive happen to you to cheer you up, you're certainly due something good!

Omg my day started off so bad. As I was entering the bathroom, I noticed a worm like bug on the wall. I rushed to grab a show and kill it. After hitting it I didn't see it on the shoe so I figured it fell in the crack between the wall and the carpet. Guys i tried to be brave and smush it. I hate bugs!! Idk I think the bug had babies or something bc I then spotted two more smaller bug. Ewwww! I killed them then wiped them up. I'm traumatized!! I know I sound silly no judgemental posts please. I'm still shuddering!! !
