I watched a video about King Henry VIII and how he went from being a real-life Prince Charming to a morbidly obese tyrant, and all the health problems and illness he suffered, even before he got that way, such as surviving smallpox and malaria, hypochondria, and injuries related to his love of jousting. It was actually kind of sad and sometimes gross. Such as before he died he had horrible ulcers all over his legs, and it's rumored that his corpse exploded before they could get him into the coffin.

A lot of people in the Victorian Age were being poisoned and even died from their own wallpaper. Back then the color green was very popular in people's houses, and people used a wallpaper that had a beautiful, emerald-green hue. But it was arsenic that gave it that color! :skull:

I once read somewhere that a bunch of kids were poisoned at a birthday party a long time ago because arsenic was used to color the green icing on the cake. You're always hearing these days about how everything we eat should have killed us a long a long time ago, but in the "good" old days things weren't that good at all.

Today I learned how to operate the gas powered engine that sucks water from our pond, into fire hoses and how to get the hoses around the house all in preparation for fire season. And how to put it all away, which is much less exciting.

Elephants can detect the low-frequency calls of other elephants through their feet, from up to six miles away.

The battery of an Apple Macbook could save you from a gunshot: it's bulletproof.

Mongooses were introduced to Hawaii in 1883 to control the invasive rat population. However, rats are nocturnal and mongooses are diurnal. Hawaii now has a problem with both.

I learned that it was not really rats, which caused the spread of the bubonic fleas, rather guinea pigs of all things possibly

Two tablespoons of honey would be enough to fuel a bee's entire flight around the world.

If the Sun were the size of a beach ball in Space, then Jupiter would be the size of a golf ball and the Earth would be as small as a pea.
