I don't worry about what the future will hold for me if I do get a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome, and don't worry about what kind of can of worms that may open.

I understand why some people are hesitant to seek a formal diagnosis. I feel like the self-awareness which results and the lists of individualised resources they will be given can only hurt them. It's especially bad because they'll force you to wear a shirt that says "I'm Autistic!" for the rest of your life and everyone you meet will know straight away that you are different.
