According to an article on wikipedia, it is a buttered piece of toast with salt and pepper between two slices of bread.

That sounds like only about 1/4 step up from bread and water.

It's true , or it was true at the turn of the 19th century. We have evolved a little since then

I quite like egg and bacon toastie or fish finger toastie. Sausage and onion toastie is nice too. I have also had a lamb toastie.

I find adding cheese n onion crisps to a tuna sandwich rather yummy.

I like fish finger sandwiches and chips.

I used to like chip butties, now I'm onto the fish finger ones. Only at proper seaside cafes though.

I saw it on Wikipedia but didn't know if it was real or an elaborate gag.

Here's a BBC story on it. From https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-15752918:
Quote:
Britain's 'cheapest' lunchtime meal was unveiled by scientists on Wednesday - the toast sandwich.

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is reviving the mid-Victorian dish, which, unsurprisingly, consists of two slices of bread around a slice of toast.

The society is so confident in the repast, it will offer £200 to anyone who can create a cheaper alternative.

...

The RSC's Dr John Emsley said: "You simply put a piece of dry toast between two slices of bread and butter, with salt and pepper to taste. I've tried it and it's surprisingly nice to eat and quite filling.

"I would emphasise that toast sandwiches are also good at saving you calories as well as money, provided you only have one toast sandwich for lunch and nothing else."

Tomato puree or tomato puree with garlic

Best with the fish fingers having been fried (not deep fried) and crusty bread. And lots of black tea :D and no salad cream.

Ha ha, do I make your guts churn Mr Ferris? 8O

The s**t sandwich is actually a feedback technique.

You give someone something positive, followed by something negative, then something positive to end the conversation.

Eg. Your hair looks nice like that, although you might want to change your lipstick to a lighter shade, you will be the bell of the ball.

Nah , my gag reflex is awesome unless it's slug related. I can talk inappropriately all through dinner and it doesn't affect me.

Does the technique work?

I really like you Tem , except for the things you say , I really like you Tem
