I went to the post office & picked up a package that contained my StarTrek Sulu coin & the display case to hold all the coins.

I did great on my test today!

Now I have another paper to do tonight which I'm so darn tired of freaking homework I just want to puke! I have to get it done so I have Tuesday free next week. (I should have put this in the UNHAPPY thread, but I'm just too tired.)

My paper's subject? BPH. Makes me so glad that I'm not a guy.

currently spending the week watching over my father's house while he and his wife are on vacation. he said it was fine to move furniture about in the bonus room, so it's all been moved to the sides leaving quite a bit of open space to practice iaido, shoulder rolls, and chaining shuto and spearhand strikes while whirling/rolling about, keeping momentum, and not slamming into anything... much different than practicing in my apartment's bedroom, and not being able to take more than a second step without repositioning myself. very fun, to me at least.

it's also quite quiet and stress defusing up here as it's close to the foot of a mountain, the house is filled with warm wood finishes and furnishings with greenery and stonework inside and outside(calming on the eyes), and it's like a 45 minute steep uphill walk from anything commercial so there haven't been any human packs roaming about and cackling throughout the dead silence of the nights.

^don't know if that's the case really. speed, strength, and agility are not a problem, but as far as endurance... find myself having to tap into indomitable state of mind to bite through the windedness that comes rather quickly, and the groggy mind that can come shortly after if not practicing while out in bracing cold. so like, currently, during control contact sparring indoors, can keep a single opponent of similar ability backing up against the walls for the first ten minutes or so(probably much longer than any average defense scenario, though, that time could probably easily be quartered or cut to a fifth by the addition of another person), but after can't really keep up for more than thirty minutes beyond that at much more than maybe 40% capacity, and after that, my body and mind become rather useless for much more than sluggish blocking or choosing where to take hits.

it probably has more to do with my forced diet rather than my actual endurance though... that, and that my personal take on current taught techniques is more physically demanding and draining, yet from implementing past knowledge of studied anatomy and physiology, is quite rapid and ergonomic in movement(so, the rapid and many strikes in a short span of time quickly tax energy reserves) and doesn't seem to sacrifice strength or discipline of form(thinking to read up on jeet kune do for further inspiration, after having only recently having heard of it... ideally, want to devise a teachable rapid blocking/deflection system efficient enough for use to defend against a group.). also, my digestive health and it's sensitivities/intolerances seem to limit me to a low fat, non-sulfuric, protein heavy diet(thinking it's a gallbladder issue)... so useful calories are quite hard to find on my low income. probably only get like 800-1200 calories a day if there's rice or potatoes around(can't seem to eat much for breads, crackers/chips, or most grains or corn in general without feeling sort of inebriated, and a cooked fish filet or steak is typically only like 200 calories), and should probably be eating somewhere over 3000 with my dangerous metabolism, and at this point, probably don't have much body fat left which might not be a good thing since the brain runs on fat.

safe to say you're in an enviable state of conditioning, you'll probably always be fit and trim.

actually, the brain (and the liver) run on glucose. it's why diabetics go into coma without the insulin to let cells use sugar.

I was able to find a corroded wire that was causing an intermittent short and draining the battery in my truck.

thanks, that's good to know. though, have been lead to believe that healthy brain function is aided by consumption of healthy fats... and seem to have chosen my words poorly to articulate that.

having had to have fought off fatty liver, I was told that to prevent a recurrence I had to start burning fat instead of sugar for body fuel. that means no more refined carbs, more healthy fats and proteins in my diet. sounds like you are burning fats fairly efficiently without too much effort. but beware of too much protein without lots of water to keep your kidneys flushed out.

yes, the mediterranean diet and the MIND diet both decrease dementia risk. olive oil (healthy monounsaturated fat) is a feature of both. fatty fish (omega 3 fats) also seem to help the brain.
