Speaking from experience, it's hell. I don't pick up that first one anymore though.
I'm sure it would be at a certain point. Sensitivities have prevented that sort of thing or I'm sure I would be. I may try red wine though for a time and see how that goes, being it's also good for health.
I guess I'm inclined to believe you are or you're not. I remember asking my brother if when he had a drink he had an overwhelming compulsion to have another and another and he said no. It was like that for me always, but it is progressive so it doesn't necessarily get out of control right away.
I know what you mean. I have alcoholism in my family but it didn't run that way with me. It's a form of escapism I have actually wished for, out of foolishness I am sure.
It's a complicated matter. There's the physiological component for sure but psychologically I was reaching for that drink at the first sign of any negative emotion. I forgot completely that feelings weren't going to kill me.
Feelings and psychology can both take a hike, alcohol or not.
