So I have been having the lactose free cow milk in porridge for the last two days and after all that I've realised I

prefer the boiled egg and toast. I had porridge every day for more than ten years and loved it but my taste appears

to have changed, how strange :?

I just had lamb hotpot from Iceland.

It doesn't exactly bode well for the future of ready meals under Brexit.

I'd never had one before. I get the sense they'd be OK if not microwaved but cooked properly but it didn't taste nice at all. Just meat and potatoes. I like spice.

Because he's a Cockney Rebel. I still pay the most attention to Schultz because I'm the most like him.

^Then I remembered how annoying it is when people show a reaction but don't explain. I don't get the Brexit

connection to a bad ready meal. There may be some temporary shortages of some fresh produce after Brexit but we

buy in a lot because we can't grow enough so it is our own and the EU's best interests to make it as smooth as poss

as soon as poss. I haven't eaten a ready meal in more than 15 years but I have fond memories of the chilli con.

It might not be that esp since Iceland got rid of Mexican food and Mexico isn't in Europe. And esp since they're buying in a lot of Italian actually.

I'm just starting to realise I don't like a lot of British dishes.

I thought I did. I like fish and chips and Sunday dinner and big breakfast.

But I really didn't like that hotpot and there was another British dish I tried last week and didn't like (beef Wellington).

^More left for me to eat :D

I love our food but it doesn't transfer to ready meal/tinned/fast food form as well as spicier foods do. Nothing beats

a homemade shepherd's pie.

I've got none at the moment, not even very cold. Now I've said that we'll be hit by a storm.

The suggestion is that after Brexit in March there will be no food imports,

therefor it will be turnip day (because we can grow them) EVERY day.

I vote we rename today 14th Feb Turnip Day.

Happy Turnip Day to all, here's some turnip cake

Need to be heading back to Ireland 2019. :)

I'm going to be a heathen and opt for carrot day when turnip day rolls around...

Don't like turnips but I do like carrots. We can grow them too, and peas.

And I'll have loads of roasties.

Talking of Ireland, I once had potato cake and chips there. Just on their own as a meal like fish and chips.
