I had this CD for a couple days when I was about 10 years old. I really liked the song 'Fly' at the time. When I started listening to the CD I realized it was uncensored and I heard the song 'Cash' (lots of the f-word in that song). I really liked the CD but knew I was supposed to have music that had swear words in it... so after a day of thinking it over I decided to tell my mom about it. I was hoping she would still let me keep the CD if I just told her I wouldn't listen to that song. But nope, she took the CD away... talk about honesty back-firing! :?

I can only imagine what my parents would have thought of the music I was listening to if they knew the lyrics. I was ten years old when Nine Inch Nails released "Closer," and I bought the album just to have that song. You know what the lyrics are? "I want to f**k you like an animal. I want to feel you from the inside." Yikes. Sometimes I'm glad that I had neglectful parents.

As for Sugar Ray, they wrote a couple of decent pop sings after they sold out (I usually hate it when people accuse bands of "selling out," but if it was ever appropriate, it's here), but I pretty much gave up on them after that. It's not that I require bands to be heavy, but they just seemed more fun back when they weren't writing music specifically for 12 year old girls. Here's the Sugar Ray that I remember:

Ha! I pretty much just listed to the music my sister liked when I was around this age (because she was cool). She would have been twelve at the time... the exact target audience.

And now for something completely different...
