No, he just didn't see the need for it. I can post some bits from the book describing his decision if it would help at all.

Not at all, there are many people who have many alternative philosophies that simply don't agree with the fetters of a settled life. Living an alternative one takes strength, and conviction. It also takes thinking things through and really understanding what it is you're being forced into by the norm, and what you're doing by refusing. You have to forge your own way, with no script to follow. Not only those who are voluntarily homeless like many forms of nomadic peoples, but also travelers, hikers, seasonal workers and itinerants. Free spirits.

I just read that there's a rumor that the Cabbage Patch Kids were made ugly-cute on purpose to help desensitize parents of children who were mutated as a result of nuclear war back in the 80's.

Way to take the warm, fuzzy nostalgia out of the dolls. I actually currently own three CPK, although they are modern versions that came out only a few years ago. One is white, one is black, and the other looks Asian.

Eating lunch. I wanted to Wrongplaneteer/communicate with some friends but it seems whenever I'm online, none of them are online.

There was another rumor that when the Cabbage Patch Kids first came out that after so many years after filling out their adoption papers you'd get a "death certificate" or something to plan their funeral. I know for a fact that couldn't be true. When I first got my first dolls as a kid I was able to send away for a card and other stuff that arrived on their 1st birthday. But they're dolls, they're going to stay babies or toddlers for practically forever.

Of course, they might wear out if you aren't careful with them or give them a lot of love. I guess then they'd turn into real children, like the Velveteen Rabbit?
