Rational selfishness isn't a religion. I think you're confusing the difference between religion and worldview. They aren't at all the same, and I'd speculate even mutually exclusive. Religion gets in the way of having true principles.

And while rational selfishness could indeed be a principle, I would have a lot to say about how valid of a principle it really is. Are you a moral objectivist, by any chance?

Despite intellectually rejecting these three ideals long ago, I still find myself defaulting to preferences of ethnicity. I admit that I'm guilty of what could be termed "racist tendencies". I simply identify with and prefer to be around people who are of a similar ethnic background.

Like it has been said, ethnic group and nationality just happened to me, and they simply are.

"Religion" is to me not the same thing as faith: religion is a construct of man, and often a means to an end.
Faith is directly between you and whoever/whatever your faith is in, be it God of the Bible, Allah, Gaia, a Pantheon, Science, Truth, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
It is better to be loyal to your faith than a religion.

None of those mean much of anything to me. I'm not proud of any of them.
Loyalty... I do not see how that applies to ethic group. Nationality... don't really care. Pretty indifferent/sometimes dislike being american. And while I have beliefs, I have no religion to which I could be loyal to. And my beliefs shift around a lot...

As others have said,I find it illogical to be proud of things that are mostly incidental to the circumstances of our birth.
When it comes to things like sports,I'll support Scottish (and other British) teams but any
'pride' is dispelled by rational thinking and the realisation that there is fine line between
embracing diversity and divisive prejudice.

I feel more pride due to my religion (Judaism) more than anything else.
As for ethnic group and nationality, I'm white and I live in the U.S.
Mainly, I'm proud of being Jewish.

I'm fascinated by the American culture, especially our unique can-do history. (Modern American culture has taken a wrong turn somewhere in the 70s or so.) But I don't feel any pride or even loyalty toward the country as such.

The whole white power thing is repugnant so I couldn't possibly feel any pride for being white.

I'm an atheist, which ought to answer your third question better than any lenghty reply.

I can't say I feel any sense of pride, loyalty or sense or belonging to either.

religion? I was born protestantic but quit the state church as soon as I turned 15.

Nation? I'm not proud of my country at all. I'd rather live in the EU.

Ethniticity? Well, unlike the other 2 I'm not against being caucasian, but I' m sure not proud of it either.

I value ethics, values and individuals above all that.

OP, you really should've had a "neither" option.
