To say I'm a softy would be a bit of an understatement. Unfortunately I'm surrounded by a few very mean people. :(

Can't suppress them unless I have a lot of time to think about what I'm going to say. Sometimes on IM il write something and realize that it could offend so I delete it before pressing enter. But when talking in person I have a hard time.

I'll usually be polite, if I think someone is wrong I'll tell them. If someone just bugs me I sometimes end up firing off quips. With complete strangers I'll usually play model citizen.

As a child if I came across someone that I didn't like, my behaviour may have been seen as mean by some NT's. However I only ever treated people how I would have liked to be treated myself......... with honesty. Now I just avoid all contact as much as I can so that means I only have contact with people I know well and like. Usually once every one understands each other there is no need for anyone to be mean. I will however stand up for myself 100% of the time if need be and I don't hold back if someone has a go at me. If that is considered mean then I am mean.

I'm mean because NT's treat me like dog s**t, and expect me to be okay with it.

i'm nice to strangers....but can be very mean if i get tired of someone. i feel so bad.

Don't feel bad if you do it to jerks, a**holes, and bullies.

Yes I can be very mean and when you see me mean, that person has probably done something to me and deserves it. I can also get mean when people don't listen to me and they keep pushing me pushing me and then I snap. I can also be mean to jerks and bullies even if they did nothing wrong to me but how they were treating someone can tick me off.
I am only mean to the right people, not to any innocent ones.

Oh yeah if you insult me, I might insult you right back. If someone gets all mean to me, I can be mean right back. I would rather not listen to someone if they are being all mean and nasty to me so why should I listen to them? They don't deserve my respect then.

When I was younger I would tell it as exactly as I saw it ,and retro- rethinking this now ; it came across as mean.
Eventually this just drove people away.
If I was provoked I could blow up ; but this only alienates .. if one has the self control not to retaliate, then they are taken aback with more force .

Now I use tact and tell it in a much more palatable way.
