I'm not racist, unless hating a language and music-type is racist, though since it's the language and music I hate, and not the people, I would say it isn't.

And I am not prejudiced against the ret*d.

Mental deficiency is NOT a racial characteristic.

Personally I think all organisms are naturally racist. Humans are lucky enough to have free will and we can easily overcome our instincts to segregate.

Racist: You could say that I am a bit, yes. I dislike the stupidity displayed by the gangster culture that is prevalent among several different races (e.g. black, mexican, and even armenian here in CA). I do not, however, have any problem with members of these ethnicities who do not portray themselves as morons. So it is not exactly racism, it just so happens that there are many "minorities" that buy into that culture. But there are certainly white people who indentify with the gangster culture as well (or other forms of stupidity such as the surfer, skater, or preppy culture) and I dislike them just as much.

So in conclusion: Meh.

As for mental retardation, I am extremely uncomfortable around a ret*d person and don't know how to treat them. So I guess the answer to that one would be yes.

The fact you don't like gang culture isn't racist at all but the fact you speak about those "minorities" (the air quotes around that suggests you don't think they are minorities) as though gang affiliation were a racial characteristic which a few of them can be smart enough to work there way out of but speak of the white people as though only a few would be silly enough to lower themselves could well be.

I get uncomfortable around special needs folk who are really childlike but with old bodies, they get uncomfortable around me too. I think it's just not knowing what to do around them.

No, its just like I said, there happens to be many minorities that buy into the gangster culture and few white people. But I also listed several white cultures I also find annoying so I'd have to disagree with your assessment of my statement.

Good :) didn't necessarily think you were just pointing out what you said could be but in a different way than you might have realised, I didn't think you'd mind since you said you might be anyway.

When thinking about these annoying people do you ever consider why they do the things that annoy you or do you think they do it because it's just what they do? This is a serious Q btw I'm actually interested/

No, to me racism is very wrong. I treat all people the same.

Nope, I don't mind :) Thanks for pointing that out, I see how you could get that impression.

I think its a culture/sheeple thing. They identify with a certain group of people so they all just copy each other because that's they way they're supposed to be. *shrug*

There are plenty of whites who adopt the whole hip-hop/gangsta culture, thanks to Eminem.

No but I hate people who do not appreciate the consequences of their actions, like people who do something that they KNOW is WRONG and later on when you ask them why they did it they say “I don’t know”. Most people label such people as “stupid” but in fact they simply are “LESS HUMAN” in my opinion. So I guess that makes me a RACIST in favor of HUMANS as opposed to pseudo-humans. If anyone has any notion of debating me on the term “HUMAN” please don’t bother; just because you live with and are used to seeing the FAILURES of being human does not mean that they ARE human.

Yeah that's true. I was thinking more of why these minorities choose gang culture in the first place as apposed to say dance culture or modern art. I believe it's very complicated but a lot of it is to do with disenfranchisement and anger at the status quo. These people have no power and this is one way they see of getting some. Even the middle class white teens who emulate the lifestyle do it for the same reasons but against their parents rather than society. A lot of it is marketing too, there's a lot of money in race music

This describes what children do from the age of 3 til 16, suppose they can be quite small but i'd hesitate to say 'less human'

No, I was not referring to children but adults. Children are simply that, children.

So if a child doesn't attain the ability to properly appreciate the consequences of thier actions, at what point to they cease to be considered human?

Racism and retardation?

Hmmmm..... :?

Well I do get irked by people in general.

But as for groupism, I'm still learning in the process. I find cultures have more or less to do with my dislikes rather than it being pertained to race. There are even white cultures I can't stand.

As for the mentally ret*d, I won't lie I use to use that word a lot until I worked with children who were disabled. I really find the generalizations about mental retardation pretty sad and still way behind in this country just as autism and aspergers and so on... However I guess I can see how one would be afraid if a person wasn't behaving appropriately or "normal". It's easier to assume the worse in people than to get to really know them. I still make this mistake a lot and find out once I get to know that person, they're not out of the majority of the time what I had originally thought.

Anyway ignorance in general I think pisses me off more than anything. However, I know what it feel like to be somewhat ignorant when you grow in a world that negatively stereotypes certain behaviors and people. Some of the stuff I use to say was beyond my compacity to understand.
