As far as permanent immortality goes, no thanks. But I wouldn't mind if there was some way to make me temporarily immortal, i.e. an elixir of some sort that would extend my lifespan as long as I'm taking it on a regular basis (like the Elixir of Life produced by the Philosopher's Stone). That way I can take as much time as I want to enjoy life, and when I start to get tired of life, I can stop taking it and die on my own terms.

That, IMHO, would be ideal. Plus if it was something like an elixir that could be shared, I would share it with my gf/wife/lover and my best friends. That way we can all live our lives out together, then die simultaneously.
