Porkchops are for me just another food that takes way too much mastication. But again, I don't object to the flavor, just the texture.

*Good* steak is very hard to come by. Steak is almost like a science, finding the best meat, cooking it properly, etc... I don't care for it much. I hate the gristle/outer part. Medium-rare is the only good way to eat steak IMO, as the juice give it more flavor.

A good source of steak might be hard to come by... But if you find a butcher you can trust, well the only thing better than steak is sex.

I'm getting a lot....

That photo was gross!

I'm not a keen meat eater, only eat it due to poor health.

I've never liked steak... I can eat it if it is eye fillet and has a really nice garnish or sauce.

I couldn't care if I never saw or ate steak again.

Have always been perplexed as to why most people absolutely LOVE steak! :?

I hate steak for the same reason as you, I hate food that you must chew endlessly until it's soggy and like a giant mushy spitball. And the stringy parts get stuck in your teeth. ): When I was a kid, I used to eat only a little to satisfy my mom, hold the mushy remains in my mouth and spit them out in the trash.

People also say I'm crazy and "how can you not like steak?" ): I like most other meat though.

The only time I really enjoy eating steak is when I order it at a pub restaurant. I can only take a few mouthfuls of home cooked steak, especially when my mother cooks. If I move out and start cooking for myself, steak will not be had often as I'm too sick of the sight of it.

I'm the same, can't stand steak, the only meat I really like is pork. Even that has to be processed. I can eat some bland fish like cod and scampie but don't particularly like it.

There is a big difference between an ok steak and a great steak.
For the former medium but usually well done.
For the latter medium rare.

I like steak and seafood (all meat, really, just as long as it's not mixed with anything, barring breadcrumbs, I like meat crumbed).

Meat and potatoes is my favourite meal as of now.

Seems like a running theme here is that our mothers are ruining steaks, so for those who don't like it, try not to develop a prejudice against it. It's your mom's fault, not the steak. ;) (I still can't eat many of the things my mom cooks, but will happily order them when I'm out.)

I have found grass-fed beef tastes better than grain-fed, and it's healthier too.

I don't HATE steak, but I've never been a huge fan. I'm starting to appreciate pork chops lately though, as long as they're grilled or maybe broiled just right.

As for beef steaks being flavorless, that's what steak/BBQ sauce is for ;)

:eew: I couldn't eat that. As for well done/slightly burned beef (how I like it), I am nuetral. In most cases, especialy all hamburgers, they are tasteless. I have had steaks done right by family members though, and prefer that over restaurant style. I actuly love the texture of steaks.

I like both steaks and hamburgers medium to medium well.
