Die-hard Kinks fans, who have to have their afternoon tea, every day of the week.

English people are prim and proper and like to sit around drinking tea and eating crumpets (whatever those are) all day.

Actually, I've heard that the British are very foul-mouthed. Is this true?

Crumpets are tasty motha-f**kers for your information. And some can be foul mouthed. Not all ofcourse.

Some of us are very foul-mouthed, yes, including myself on appropriate occasions, which there seem to be a lot of at the moment

As for crumpets, they are very tasty with lashings of butter on or tomato puree, cheese and herbs. Here is a link to view our snacky English delicacy for those of you who are unaware of what they are: http://www.dcs.shef.ac.uk/~mark/blog/bl ... umpets.jpg

Drinking tea is also a popular thing to do amongst English people, particularly when you first wake up of a morning, my boyfriend loves the stuff and won't get out of bed unless he's had one along with a cigarette. Personally, I hate tea, give me a cup of strong coffee anyday, just not tea, bleurgh!! ! And no cigarettes either!! !

Another English stereotype is that we are emotionally cold and reserved. I think this is true in that we don't often greet each other with hugs and kisses more just 'hiya, you alright?' Plus, in society, if you go shopping in say Manchester or London, people as a collective are short-tempered and needlessly rude which makes the whole experience of shopping a really stressful one, so thank you England you bunch of miserable _________ (insert swear word of your choice here).

Another stereotype is that we like football. Football used to be about the sport and people used to play it/watch it for fun. Now, for the footballers, it is all about the money and the fans take the game far far far too seriously with some even going to prison for their violent behaviour towards those that support another team (or even those that support the same team as them but hey, they wanted a punch-up anyway!! !). Football has lost its meaning and I avoid people that like football like this like the plague. I actively stay away from football fans and from pubs that are showing a football match as I really can't be bothered with these people. There is always trouble when a pub televises a footy match. Society seems to find it acceptable to support something like this that will have no bearing on your survival at the end of the day, something that is lost on me and I personally find concerning, particularly as these people then whinge about violent crime (duh).

Another one is that we like pies, fish and chips. This one I will not argue with. I like to have a good chippy about twice a month (anything more would probably make me fat lol). The best fish and chips you will find are in Whitby, absolutely scrummy. Although the chippies where I live in Manchester aren't too bad. Sometimes I will have fish and chips, other times jumbo sausage, pies or saveloys with chips, yum yum!!

I am quite foul mouthed but I don't like footbal. I loath it infact. Give me rugby any day of the week over football.

Tally ho chaps! Lets all go watch a nice game of rugger and eat tea and scones!

That they are the essence of Steampunk (all Steampunkers are English....right?...;)
They like a cuppa chai, that they have 3 vegetables, 2 of which are cabbage...;)
That an English person can tell your shire and occupation from just one paragraph of your talking, which is why they really hate Americans trying to do an English accent...;)
No rude stuff about the Queen, knocking someone up involves a door instead of a mattress,
shagging is not a dance they do in NC (well, at least not on the dance floor)
bloody is bad language...
they have all the prog rock, the best DJs, electronica, etc.
They believe in traditions, like Queen, country, and Dr. Who...;)
that's enough for now...
