This will sound weird and i dont want it to be disrespectful in any way but how did Starbuline actually die? I have never had any dealings with her and was not a member here at the time but ever since reading this topic i have just spent the last hour or so trawling the internet and reading old posts on here including the tribute thread. I hope i am not coming off as some sort of morbid freak but i sort of need to know this for some form of closure now. If some one could PM me what happened that would be fine then a mod can delete this post so it doesnt bring up bad memories for the rest of the site.

I remember her. She was the first person to talk to me when I first came on here. She helped me through things a couple of hard times as well.

Nothing happens to most accounts. They become inactive, but aren't usually deleted.

When I first started reading this site, I remember reading posts from one user whose avatar is of my favorite musician(by far). I would always notice her posts.

A few months later I found out that this poster had killed herself just several weeks before I started reading this site. That was very strange. It is still strange when I search this site for a topic and see her posts.

Who was that?
Starbuline.

I believe that her avatar is a picture of Regina Spektor, and Regina Spektor is my favorite musician.

This is Starbuline's avatar:

She came from Russia, and I know that that was Starbuline's interest.

What happens? I don't think I had a facebook friend who died yet nor do I know of anyone on WP who has died. Just wondering what happens to their account? Does nothing happen and the account just doesn't change as if the person never logs in again, or does someone cancel and get rid of the account?

Been wondering about the same thing.

I helped a friend set up a Facebook page, and he hasn't used it much (if at all?) since. I gave him the login info and instructions, but last I heard, he didn't have a computer . . . .

I've wondered if I should deactivate his page because he doesn't use it? Or call him and ask him if he'd like for me to manage it for him? Then I decided I should just let it be, with one exception. As far as I know, I'm the only other person with who has his password, so if he were to die, I would log in and turn it into a memorial page.

Then I started thinking that maybe I should keep a list of my passwords for different sites filed away somewhere safe so that, were I to die in the near future, someone could either deactivate the pages or turn them into memorials.

I used to get 3d art stuff from Creepy Clown (it's ancient; and the poor fella died a good 5 years ago). It was up as long as a year ago...though obviously not updated any more.

I know a couple of blogs created by people dying of incurable diseases; when they ended their days, their friends or family posted the information on their death afterwards. I don't know if the blogs were for real, though, there's no way for me to verify it. In 2004 or 2005 I used to frequent a blog the owner of which claimed she was dying of the blood cancer. It turned out later that the girl was perfectly healthy and that her best friend who wrote later about her death was only her alter ego - the author of the blog impersonated the person who even didn't exist.

I am sorry about the death of Starbuline. I just registered here a few months ago, but I feel to hear that another person on the spectrum took her life, even if I have never actually spoken to her.

Generally the only way stuff gets deleted is when the main site posted on goes down or deletes their stuff. Otherwise, as long as that's happening, their stuff stays online forever. Now, occasionally, family members will modify their account to say they died or whatever, in some way, but usually it just appears as if the person has left the messageboard or whatever inexplicably, and usually people don't even recognize the member is gone anyway unless they were really important members for the board.

Their account stays until the forum gets deleted or until the admins decides to delete their account due to inactivity.

I am sure online people die all the time and we don't even know it. We just notice the person hasn't logged in for a while or in years.

Unless their family members know their account information, they may shut down their blog or close their facebook account.

I remember when I heard about people who I had come across online having died and all that, and being like oh my goodness.

One such lady was on the autism spectrum and she was diagnosed before she ever had a chance to be vaccinated so she could be sure that vaccines did not cause her autism to begin with.

She did say her parents did not seek help for her due to Bruno Bettleheim saying bad parenting causes autism and her parents not wanting to be looked down upon as bad parents.

A website that was set up about her was still up even after she died with a message of "she did what she damn well wanted to."

One day I got Im'd from a screen name cause I guess the girl it belonged to died and I got told to delete said screen name off friends list as well or something and I was like oh my gosh.
