I don't wear shoes unless I have to go somewhere, I take ages to put them on so if I am leaving again soon I might leave them on for a bit, but I prefer going bare foot inside, but I do leave them on when over someone elses house, I see it as makeing yourself at home, and I fear that people will see as being rude and such for makeing myself at home too much, and my personal code puts me against doing so, unless that would be rude. My socks also tend to stink after a while of wearing shoes, and I don't want people to smell my socks after taking my shoes off.

My sister is infuriating though as she has to put shoes on when moving around the house, she complains about not likeing the feeling on her feet.

I don't wear shoes indoors. I like to feel the texture of the carpet, and I like to be comfortable. Actually, I only wear shoes when I HAVE to. Like when I'm at work, or when I go out. When I'm indoors, or even just out in the yard, I don't. Unless, of course, the cement is boiling and burns my feet.

I guess. Are they expensive? I can't tell (I think they are, must be). Don't remember but they are about 50 dollars... is that much?
I get mine for about 30 dollars converted to Swe currency. And mine are real sheepskin slippers. I buy them at a gas station called Statoil, they always have them there for some reason.

I see. That is pretty strange. Don't people want you to be comfortable in their home?
Taking your shoes of at others house to me is purely courtesy for me so that I won't bring dirt in to the house and when I'm invited in to someones house I generally take it as that I'm welcome.
Making myself at home to me is more like doing things in someone else's house that doesn't concern you like walking in to rooms that you're not supposed to or searching through their fridge without asking if you may have something to drink. Things like that.
Taking your shoes of is purely sanitary in my opinion. If someone would tell me to keep my shoes on I'd think they never really wanted me there and then I'll tell them I will wait outside because I will not enter their home with shoes on.

Well that's how I roll anyways...

Barefoot indoors. Barefoot outdoors. Barefoot anywhere it is both legal and not a danger to my health to be barefoot. And even in those places, I'll try to get away with it, or at the very least wear only socks.

Shoes are the spawn of all that is wicked and unjust in the world. They are evil incarnate, and are to be avoided at all costs.

AT ALL COSTS!! !

^certain members of my family (2 specifically) would agree. I, on the other hand, dislike going outside without shoes, I have sensitive feet. I have a pair of sketcher sandals that I prefer to wear most of the time. They are slip-on and quite comfortable. I only wear shoes in the house if I am planning on coming and going all day and am too lazy to put my shoes on repeatedly.

I don't like wearing shoes inside the house. Where I live, the soil is sandy. And when that soil gets tracked into the house, it grinds into any available surface. Socks that I have worn around the house got permanently soiled, and no amount of washing will remove this dirt. I also believe that shoes should be shed at the door, because if I have been walking around downtown, I have walked in all kinds of stuff, and I don't want to bring that into my house.
