Why? 5'11 is already taller than average. I can see wanting to grow another inch (just because 6' sounds a lot taller than 5'11), but that's it.

If you think your height is stopping you from becoming a professional footballer, the smallest player to play in the English Premier League is Jose Dominguez at 4.11".

At 5'7" and 9/16ths, I don't see a problem here...;)
Your height is from your parents. Unless you want to be a sperm donor or become a uniformed soldier/policeperson, etc., height requirements aren't spelled out. Though it's been shown that taller people get hired faster, and advance up the ladder faster as well.

Your height is not your problem. You are just projecting your aspieness onto any percieved flaw in your person or in your existence. Like the lonely guys here who seem to think their lives would magically become great if only they found a girlfriend. Err nope sorry. You are what you are. If you've got problems, they are caused by personality traits and not height or weight or shoe size or whatever. Start looking for your real flaws and fix them, if you are so inclined.

Quote:
One study conducted of women's personal ads support the existence of this preference; the study found that in ads requesting height in a mate, 80 percent requested a height of 6 feet or taller. However, this percentage was only of ads specifying height, and therefore possibly self-selected and/or biased by a third factor such as female height.

Also saw elsewhere that (in america) women average 5'6" while men average 5'10".

Height affects many things - like getting hired for jobs, promotions, sports performance, general influence and being taken seriously. I think those would affect both genders.

Most women prefer men taller than themselves. Of course, if a man is exceptional in some other areas (wealth, talent, charisma), he can still be attractive despite his shortcomings. Meanwhile men don't care as much about height (unless the woman is much taller than them) but tend to prefer shorter women, so female munchkins should be ok romantically. If anything, tall women have a harder time finding a desirable man (meaning taller, plus all the usual desirable traits).

This also plays a part in interracial preferences as well. Black men tend to be taller than white or asian men, whereas asian women tend to be shorter than white or black women.

I'm average at 5'10", while my sister who is also 5'10" is taller than most women around and tends to go for guys that are huge (and look normal standing next to her).
