when I sneeze, It genuinely hurts. Could have something to do with the old broken ribs or what have you...but I see stars and damn does it suck sometimes.

maybe a nerve impingement on the old rib injury while the bone was reknitting?

Maybe, but even when the ribs don't hurt, I still see stars and sneeze very violently

the seeing stars part is scary, it would not hurt for you to have a retinal exam at the eye doc's place. i see stars also occasionally, my eye doc said he couldn't see any retinal damage so far, god-willing.

I go for my eye exam every year, just am told that when I sneeze, because I hold my breath ahead of it, I am almost blacking out. Just a silly defensive measure to try and steady myself before the pain of the sneeze happens.

it just seems so unfortunate that there can't be some therapy to help you with your pain upon sneezing. do you have other pain issues?

I have a very loud sneeze. Fortunately, I don't sneeze too often.

I often get burning sinuses that indicate that I should sneeze, but it is difficult to provoke it.

The best practice for me to overcome the feeling is to go outside and stare towards the sun. That usually provokes me into actually sneezing and since I am outside I can be as violent as needed without worry about splattering anyone or anything. I will often sneeze violently 5 or 6 times in a row before the burning is gone.

I sneeze every time I go outside and the sun is shining, and they hurt! Achoo, Achoo, Achoo! It wouldn't be so bad to sneeze once, but they come in three's (and sometimes I experience the bonus round, a fourth ear shattering sneeze). They hurt afterwards and sometimes my right arm goes numb. Is the sun out now, oh no... Maybe I'll just stay at wrok!

Nope, I endure my pains just fine thank you. I have broken ribs in the past, was born with a broken shoulder socket and clavicle, which never healed right so I have to have reconstructive surgery every few years now that I am older.

The sneezes just plain hurt on their own, so even with no added bonus pain, I would still try to fight them and stop them from happening.

I have a loud-ish sneeze, too...I think of it as a "Car-like sneeze;" like one that an anthropomorphic Car might do.

I have an extremely loud sneeze and it tickles me to see people jump out of their skin when I sneeze suddenly.

No it's not a bloody Aspie trait - I've heard people have the most loudest violent heafty sneezes, which make me jump.

I don't. My sneezes are just normal; not too quiet and wussy, not too loud and scary.
