Being a Fear and Loathing fan, i'm more intrigued by The Rum Diaries. It's more Hunter S. Thompson and whatnot.

Speaking of upcoming Johnny Depp movies... Did you guys know that him and Tim Burton are collaborating on a movie adaptation of the 60s gothic soap opera Dark Shadows? Filming starts in September or October, if everything goes well with the 4th PotC movie. My mom and I are very excited about it and we're going to see it when it finally hits theatres... It's a long wait, but I'm willing to be patient to see Johnny play the vampire Barnabas Collins.

Can't wait!! !

"What's eating Gilbert Grape" and "Benny and Joon" are definitely top 3. I'd have to say Jack Sparrow takes the prize though. The faces that he makes as Capt. Jack are just too freakin brilliant.

Cool thread!!

I love the movie, Edward Scissorhands. The character reminds me of myself, my last years in high school. The creative, moody hippie who hardly talked. 8)

Edward Scissorhands is still my top favorite Johnny Depp movie. Edward reminds me of myself too, which is one reason why I love the movie so much. The other reason is that Edward is just so doggone adorable! I even joined a group on Facebook called "I want to give Edward Scissorhands a big hug". :D

Pirates of the Carribean
Alice in Wonderland
Benny & Joon
Edward Scissorhands
From Hell

Are my top 5 favorite Johnny Depp movies...
I've only seen bits & pieces of Edward Scissorhands, but I like it anyway.

Out of curiosity, what movie was the first one that Johnny Depp stared in?

You guys, I've been watching What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and my only regret is that I didn't watch it sooner. It's a really sweet, heartfelt movie. Not only was Johnny great in the movie, his costar Leonardo DiCaprio really shined too. :) I admit that I was hesitant to see a movie featuring Johnny outside of a fantasy role, but it was actually a breath of fresh air to see him play a normal guy.

I've started watching Benny & Joon too. I can see why League Girl likes it so much; it's very charming. :)

anyone who has access to hulu: What's Eating Gilbert Grape? is available to watch on there. Used to own the dvd...then I let my brother borrow it and it of course disappeared.

Yay. Now you have to watch A League of Their Own.
