Absolutely yes and with no restrictions. It's a great place for people to learn about and understand the Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Plus, if NT's were not allowed, how would this be policed? Teehee...would there be a "scan your diagnosis here" part on account registration?

I think it's great if there are NT's that want to learn about people on the spectrum. And there might be some that exhibit some traits them self and just want to explore a bit. Plus, we can't forget the significant others of people with ASDs, and the parents as well.

Haha, exactly! If this forum ever tried to implement a policy like that (not going to happen, but hypothetically) I would make an "NT" account and post anecdotes about my Aspie behaviors, and the reasons I do those (just with "my friend does..." instead of "I do...") and see how many of the people who approved of the policy change dismissed my reasoning just because I was an "NT".

an easy yes - their input can be really helpful, and anyone who wants to understand autism better is ok by me. also most of the NTs are here to learn more about their children who have autism. it's an important resource for them.

and a bit off topic, but i do think it would be nice if:

- there were ASD specialists reading our posts and giving their input as well

- the diagnostic categories were more distinct (i.e. diagnosed Asperger's; self-diagnosed; PDD-NOS; HFA; LFA; NT; not sure, and "other" in which you could specify what else)

- diagnosis shows alongside your posts, with your screen name and location (and how about age? not month & day, but just year? right now you either expose your whole birthday or nothing).

just a thought.

i don't know if anyone else does this, but i am constantly looking at people's profiles to see their DX status, not to discriminate, but because i am interested in the variation in character, skills, interests, learning style, and emotional understanding of people on the spectrum. and i'm interested in how people of different ages cope with their autism, and how receiving a diagnosis at different times in one's life affects their understanding of themselves.

of course this could just be me wanting to design everything to suit my own needs ..

No restrictions.

Anyone who is interested in the scope of this forum should be welcome. Putting up a barrier would just perpetuate misunderstandings on both sides.

People regardless of neurotype can join and post on whatever website they want. NT's won't neccessarily find a sense of belonging here, but they can come hang out here.

It depends on why the NT has joined the site.

Way to better your situation. I'm sure this attitude will finally get you the kind of treatment you want.

Complete isolation from NT society is the comfortable thing to do. I know this from experience. But it just makes your situation worse in the long run.
