Sorry for my bluntness but that's almost the worst reason to get married I've ever heard...

I agree 100%. You shouldn't have your status like that, and picking out children's names, and posting them even though you don't have any? You may be scaring him.
Also, it sounds like you want to get married so you feel like he can't get away, so you're "safe". You should get married when you're past being paranoid about that stuff.
Does he know you have all his passwords?

Sorry, I don't want to seem mean. It just seems like you might be a bit overeager, and it could scare him. I can understand how they would be afraid of commitment. I sure am. Once he's married, he is stuck with you. And while you might be great, he may still be wondering if that's the best option, and if his feelings will still be there in 5 years. Don't you ever wonder those things yourself?

he mention something about 5 years but i wasn't sure if it was too long or not. oh yeah he knows i have his password he changed his face book pass word but i just change it back. :flower: :flower:

This. I don't think my attempt at poignant humor was succesful. So I'll just agree with this thoughtful, direct advice.

Also, 25 is the end of the typical range of male growth. It's more often 19-21, but 25 is possible depending on hormones. Are you talking about brain development, DW_a_mom? I don't understand Ferdinand's comments (I rarely do), however his biological state isn't germane to the larger issue of the OP being too immature to have a healthy marriage.

Maybe the average woman is too catty, for the average man.

Successful women? In my economy? It's more common then you think.

Sorry if I seemed to be mocking you, I wasn't. I was giving a sarcastic answer to the question "why men make excuses for why they cant marry?", because I found it to be a such a ridiculous generalization as soon as I saw this thread.

No, no! I completely agree! I was being sarcastic as well, adding onto your sarcastic comment. We're on the same side :D

So that's what you've been doing, Ferdinand! Sarcasm combined with non sequiturs. Not easy for all of us to understand that kind of humor, especially in text. Thanks for clarifying.

First off, DON'T change his passwords. In fact, don't have them! I would freak out if my SO was like that.

BS. Coming from a woman, I say this is more of the sexist crap that women hypocritically throw out.

It has been scientifically noted that men's brains keep growing until age 25. Women's only until 16. This isn't a dis against men; it is a fact that educators need to account for in order to keep boys engaged in school and not feeling like they are falling behind. I'll see if I can find the link for you.

Walk the halls of any middle school and it's pretty clear to adults that you see women and boys. It's not a dis, it really isn't. In fact, to NOT recognize it gives the boys a disadvantage because it is unfair to judge someone on developmental traits that they just haven't had time to grown into. This is a key point being made to say why education right now is UNFAIR to boys, and costly them dearly.

Most feminists actually don't want to hear anything about it. Unless they have sons to raise ;)

Valid question, actually. I am considering moving it, but I tend to be very cautious about moves. Leaving it here can upset the order of things for those who have a strong need for categorization. Moving it can upset those who have a strong need for consistency. You all can let me know if there are strong feelings either way.

I have to agree on this. While every couple decides for themselves how much to share and not share, I tend to think of passwords as private. An SO in a permanent relationship should have access to them in case something ever happens (like death, hospitalization, etc) but should never actually use them. Dating ... I wouldn't share them at all.

I couldn't tell, btw, if you were saying you had actually posted future kids names on facebook or just dreamed them up. If you post that as a current part of who you are - - that would be too intense for most people.

You can't pressure a guy - or anyone - into deciding that "now" is the time for marriage. They have to make that decision on their own. I was 35, dating my husband, really comfortable we would get married, and highly worried about my biological clock, and I STILL never nudged him on it. Tiny feelers to see if he wanted to go that route "eventually," and to get some idea of when "eventually" might be (very very subtle), but no pressure. I wanted him to choose me and be as certain as possible that it was what he wanted. Marriage is full enough of surprises, and the road can get tough; you really don't want to be on it with someone who doesn't feel they made that choice on their own.
