Best Cat Breeds for People with Allergies

I don't have allergies, but I've always wanted a Devon or Cornish Rex, as I'm sensitive to cat fur, especially the textures that tend to be more static.

When Murcia, my gran's black and white cat was about 10, we thought about her as about a very old kitty, likely to die very soon of an old age - like in a year or maybe two years if she was really lucky. We didn't know then it wasn't that much for a cat and that expecting her to die soon would be just as devoid of any sense as expecting a 60 year old to die very soon due to their already ancient age.

Wow I also love cats.

I even care for felines and cats that have either run away or have been abandoned. It's a little hard not to be able and adopt them all or care for them in the same way I care for my house cats.

And I also wonder what happened to 9CatMom. Hope she's ok.

I LOVE cats! They're my favorite animal. Whether it's domestic cats, or lions and tigers. I love them all. I also do identify with my cat very much. We're very similar, it's kind of odd. Sometimes my father says my cat acts like me. I also collect many cat things. I have a collection of cat poster(these are at work, decorating my cubicle, as my mom doesn't like them), I have sculptures of cats, I have small figurines of cats, I have a cat Christmas tree. My mom says she gets so sick of them.

Something is that one of the neighborhood cats, a black one, I suppose it must have this routine. Just like me.XDEveryday when I sit down to watch my telenovela, it always passes the house right in front of ours at the exact same time. Then fifteen minutes later, it turns back and walks back to where it likes to lie in the grass under the tree in someone's front yard. My cat also has a routine as well. In the mornings, she's lying spread out on the same stair, when I get home from work, she's sleeping on my parents' bed, at five o'clock, then she goes downstairs, and sleeps under the dining table, at around eight, she then climbs up on one of the stools. She's pretty strick with herself. But she also has a 'time slot' in her daily routine when she wants to play.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only crazy cat fanatic. I have been obsessed with kitties since before I could talk and walk. I have a large cat figurine collection, as well as lots of framed pictures. My mother travels all over the world, and gets me a kitty figurine from each country she visits. I also go to antique stores, where you can find some pretty cool, old figurines and whatnot there.

Currently I have 8 rescue kitties. Thankfully my husband is aspie and he loves cats too. I tell people that I don't choose the kitties, they choose me. For example, I found three tiny kitties with no mother in an old pile of wooden pallets behind a warehouse. I kept hearing a kitten and I just knew they were calling for help. They were very sick with pneumonia, herpes eye infections (so their eyes were glued shut), and one had been injured with a missing eye, crushed eye socket, and a broken jaw. He was the closest to death I've ever seen a cat that didn't eventually die. They were approximately 3 weeks old. 2 years and $3000 later, they are the best kitties, even Mr. One Eye. I have similar stories for all my others.

We understand cats because Asperger's is exactly like the feline personality. I have the book "All Cats Have Asperger's". It's a children's book, but the pictures are precious and it details in simple language what we all know in our hearts. To me, all NTs are dogs or birds. All aspies are cats.

I've felt like I should have been a cat before, but I never really thought cats had AS.

To the poster that said rubbing faces against things may be stimming... it's not. Cats have sweat glands on their cheeks and rubbing them releases the body odor of the cat. It's a form of 'marking their territory'. When cats rub on us, they are marking us as their property, as well.

Of course. After all, my parents and I are Sissy's own personal staff. We're the dog's masters, but we're her staff. So obviously she has to mark us.

Although she does always like twitch the tip of her tail. It hardly ever stays still. When she's eating, the tip is going up and down, like rocking, and sometimes, it may also twitch from side to side. I kind of like to think that's like me tapping my feet or flapping my hands. I wish I had a tail like hers. Then I wouldn't get into so much trouble for rocking, flapping my hands, tapping my feet, and other stims.

Mew, Mew, Mew, me too!! ! Cats are the best. Smart, beautiful, kind. I have always admired my cats for being so kind when I feel bad, and for being able to tell people to f&%k off a lot better than I ever could.

I admire them for everything. Their beautiful coats, their beautiful eyes, their sharp senses, their ability to jump high, their flexible spine. I have always thought that cats are perfection, that nature has reached perfection in felines, small cats, big cats. One of my favorite cat quotes is "Of all God's creatures, there is only one that cannot be made slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve the man, but it would deteriorate the cat." - Mark Twain. Hmm, I must change my sig.

The cat in my avvie died this year- the saddest I've at about any death, even my nans. But I have another, but don't relate as well to her, my one was the best, she could have full on conversations with me, and when I was angry or upset she would be the only one who would come to me and sit next to me and purr. Without her, life would have been bad. I think she waited until I was old enough to look after myself, then left. She was very old. :?
