My brother Cai is the only adopted child in my family that really has issues with the fact that he was adopted. I think it's because he was with his mom for two months of his life and we knew her. His issues are most likely the reason why he's so mean and disrespectful around us, even though we really love him. I loved him as a brother even when he came home when i was 4, because I understood the situation pretty well for a kid of that age. Jon Jon was brought to an orphanage in Taipei, Taiwan when he was a few days old I think. The orphanages in Taiwan are very good and he was loved there, but since we don't know where his parents are nor who they were, I don't think he cares, at least not yet. He's really attached to us, especially me. He's been through two families before us(he was too hard to take care of because he has Attachment Disorder) and I think that we're the only family he's generally cared about.

Pain in the mouth is kind of comforting.

What really shakes me about the idea of adoption is the love aspect. Is it real or an imitation?

The same could be said about anyone you 'love'.

It would depend on how understanding the adopted parents were about my personality and illnesses to determine how I would feel being adopted. That said, my parents do what they can and believe what I say, and if I wasn't adopted into a big family I know I wouldn't be taken seriously.

Its really a bad idea for parents to keep this information from their kids. If the parents are that insecure, they probably shouldn't adopt.

I would be fine with it I guess. However, I have read far too many horrible adoptions stories and even have friends who have lived those stories. Kids end up being out on the streets, living like animals, abuse, fostered from one place to the next. It's so unhealthy and sad. But it's always great to hear about the real, legitimate parents who would adopt a child for their own.

As I said in that other thread; I would be happy if I found out I was adopted. I have lots of genetic differences; psychical disabilities/differences, other weird personality quirks ect that are supposedly all inherited yet no one in my family seems to have & certainly NOT understand. I know my parents & family love me but I feel completely out of place here cuz my differences make it extremely hard to relate & there's lots of misunderstandings & arguments as a result. I think if I was adopted or something; I would feel a bit better because I would have an explanation for being the way I am & why things are so different. I feel guilty because my parents think I'm the cause of lots of my problems. If I was adopted(even if I had no info at all about my biological creators) I would feel less guilty cuz a lot of my stuff could get blamed on genetics instead of people thinking I'm lazy & selfish
