I joined back in early May. I was having a rough time at the community college I go to. Back in January, the bus route I took downtown to transfer to the college was cut to once an hour. This meant having way too much social time at the college or way too little. With the daily routine I carefully planned out completely ruined, I had more stress than I usually did. Due to that stress, I found it difficult to interact with anybody, including my closest friends.

Somehow, joining WrongPlanet allowed me to escape the black hole I was forced into.

I understand what you're going through. Since I don't drive at the moment, I'm having to rely on other people driving me to and from college. The city I live in doesn't have public transportation, but I did qualify for a bus service for special needs people, but due to that service not being very reliable, I'm going to have to find some other means of getting to and from there. There's a chance my cousin might be able to drive me there, since he'll be going to the same college I'm going to.

I joined at the age of 17 and I was just about starting college and was definitely a struggling teenager and joined only 9 days before my birthday. Now I'm 18 and I'm about to start a new year in college.

I joined a couple of months back when I was in a bit of a funk. Things have both improved and gotten worse in a way since...

When I joined, there were just over 100 members. Compare that to today, with over 38,000 members.

Looking back yonder in the General Autism forum ; the' 600 page' lasted about a month , by looking at the date stamps.

I joined in May of '09 , and you'd see 350 to 450 members at any given time, and now its doubled.

O.P.-What was I doing with my life : Obsessing with special interests ,moving from one thing to another , year after year; and when I found this place, I rather serendipitously found the reason why .

How am I different now: Education ; interestingly, I've learned more about people , from people who aren't supposed to know about people-oh, the irony.

I joined almost exactly a year ago. I was just going into the 11th grade, but I dropped out after finding that it was too stressful for me. I did cyberschool and I'm going back to public school this year. I was big into languages back then and listened to Foreign music and my obsession with dragons was budding as I began reading Temeraire and Age of Fire. I was also beginning to plan out my first Star Wars costume, which I wore to the Celebration 5 Star Wars convention 2 days ago, the largest Star wars convention of all time.

I was still living with my parents. I'm living on my own, now.

i lurked since the site started 6 years ago, but didn't join until this past february. i didn't feel sufficiently "with it" to post until then. i had a lot going on in my life before then, with both my parents passing away, having to complete their affairs, sell their house, disperse their possessions, find a place of my own to move my things into, and other things. better late than never, i suppose.
