My worst year of my life was probably when I was thirteen. I was having identity issues, I was picked on all the time at school, and I seemed to have behaved more obnoxiously than ever before.

When I was fourteen, I went through a slight "emo" phase. It was definitely an awkward year for me, but certainly a step up from age thirteen.

Age fifteen was actually a fun year for me. It was the year I started high school, and I made a lot of new friends and went on some fun field trips.

Things gradually got better for me as I got older.

I also found being age 12 to be difficult as I was mistakenly put into a class with children who were very likely to tease people like myself. Last year I was put into a class with people who were considerably kinder than the former year, and I began High School last year as well, which I enjoyed. I have really only been 14 for several weeks, but already my relatives are passing comments on the responsibilities of being 14, which I am not very pleased about.

Age fourteen really shouldn't be much different from age thirteen, other than the fact that people typically begin high school at age fourteen. I suppose your current responsibility would be to do well in high school, since now is the year that you begin developing your GPA.

Actually, I do not live in the United States, so GPAs are inexistent to me.

I suspected as much when you said that you were already in high school. If you were living in the United States, then you'd still be in middle school.

So do you live in the U.K.?

No, I reside in New Zealand. I began my present school at age 11, however I only moved into the High School department last year.

I suspected that you live in the U.K. because you mentioned in another thread your fascination for the Edwardian Era. Plus, something about you just seemed British to me.

Forgive me and my ignorance on foreign education systems.

Perhaps my writing style may appear British to you. I do forgive your ignorance, however, such ignorance is expected. I scarcely know anything about the American education system, excluding the information acquired from television shows.

I'm 18, so I obviously picked 17-19. I think the average age on WP is early 20s-late 30s. I think the oldest member here is Ruveyn he's 73.

I am 52. At one time we had (possibly still have) a member from New Zealand who is in his mid eighties. Juancho I think his name is.

I'm 35 but people don't usually believe me. I never matured on par with my peers. Par....peers. Weird. Two words I rarely use.

Helixstein, 14 was the cruelest year for me, too. It did get much better, if that's any encouragement.

It was the second worst for me, with 17 being the only age to top it thus far. Which might seem mildly pessimistic, but things did get a little better after 14, then a lot worse, and then a little better and then a lot better. So it's mostly a good thing. I hope your path more resembles happymusic's.

Sand seems to be pretty old, too. He might be just as old as, if not older than, ruveyn.

Turning eighteen soon, I feel really damn old, I just realised what a load of crap it is when parents warn you "not to grow up to fast". I've got, at best, four and a half years I which I can enjoy life, after that it's the drudgery of work and a slow and degrading decline to death
