@Jedi - Yeah, Job Corps would be it. She was there around '90 or a little earlier. I'm too southernized to go back to Vermont, but I love looking at maps and all the English place names - Bristol, Rutland, Colchester, Essex... :)

Chittenden?

And Montpelier. ;)

This winter so far the south and Northeast get slammed but the mid Atlantic area gets nothing. We got a dusting and some sleet. It was ok driving out of my housing area this morning. I thought it would be too bad to even get out of house but it wasn't. We got a dusting on Dec 26th as well. Very strange winter. I do love the cold, but this weather is too cold and depressing.

Ackman where you live do they do a good job at plowing? Is your housing area streets cleared? During the Feb 2010 blizzard (back to back) it took maybe a week for VA DOT to finally come by our housing area to clear the snow and ice. It was compacted so they had to bring in bobcats to clear off the snow. VA DOT did a TERRIBLE job at clearing the snow. Our housing area doesn't have private contractor to deal with the streets. When my parents and I lived in a townhome we had a private contractor. I remember the Blizzard of 1996. I didn't have school for 2 weeks.

The Blizz of '96 was pretty destructive on Nantucket. We lost two more houses to the sea, and the wind was pretty strong. 13" officially recorded on Nantucket at the airport. My dad recorded 28" at his place, a mile and a half from the airport.

seems the one of '93 was nothing compared to this one. Never been in snow up to my hips.

I remember '93. Winds pegged at 40 with a few gusts into the 60's. 2" at Nantucket.
