I buy my shoes, trousers and hoodies at children's clothes shops and I do my own T-shirts designs and have them printed. That's basically what I wear. More formal wear I buy practically wherever I find something I like.
I like second hand shops and charity shops too. Some of my favourite stuff is from such places.

I don't give a rats __ about fashion either. I seldom buy cloths & when I do; I guy what's comfortable, cheat & convent. I get T`shirts, shorts, jeans, underwear, socks at WalMart when I need em which is usually because the stuff I have is getting holes. I get my shoes at a sporting goods store I worked at briefly a couple years ago; I get the shoes with velcro & those are a lot harder to find at places. Academy Sp0ortig Goods has a decent price for em but they may not always have my size in stock so I may have to come back in a couple weeks to look again

I do not care the least about how I am viewed by others, but my parents do, and this influences what I wear. When I am older, I intend to wear more comfortable and formal clothes, but I must settle for generally conformed clothing for now.

Re: thrift stores, what about the idea of wearing what someone else has worn? Maybe it's just a mental block on my part, but I would always be thinking, "somebody sweat in this," "somebody wiped their nose on this." And now it's on me! 8O

Not thinking that stuff because I've worn used clothing all my life. So I don't know what could make it easier to deal with for you - perhaps just buy new clothes, though they're very expensive.

Thrift stores only take and sell the highest quality, cleanest used clothes. There's never any sign that someone else wore it before you did.

Right now, I'm actually wearing a black silk-cashmere sweater I picked up at a thrift store for an amazingly low price- it's warm, soft, and one of my favorite shirts.

I would buy cloths worn by someone else if I knew who worn it & the person was famous celeb & I knew a scientist who could clone  But other than that NO. I buy cloths cheap enough anyways

When I buy new things, I buy Tommy Hilfiger pants from their store... usually carpenter. My shirts I just get at random places. Usually consisting of black music-band t-shirts from random stores, or dressier polo like shirts from the Hilfiger store usually (Edit: I guess now that I think about it, my mall that I buy Tommy stuff from, the store is kinda like a liquidation center of the branch... so it's usually way cheaper :?) (I don't usually look far for clothing :|). I have a few dress up shirts from Hollister that I really like, but I think those are expensive... but they're awesome :P.

Well, that's good to hear. May be worth a look, at least.

It is. You can find some really nice, unique items of clothing at thrift stores, for a fraction of the price you'd pay at some big-name place.

im reminded of tommy Hilfiger circa 1996 when it was trendy with the rappers of the time.i havent seen tommy being worn predominately in years in my part of the world. hollister and abercrombie are ridiculously f*****g expensive. express for men is overrated expensive too classy for my ass s**t too. macys/jcpenney/lazarus/wallyworld/shitarget/ and all their private brand labels dont interest me either. i should just go back to wearing unionbay clothes. they're awesome and will always be awesome. and old navy is just old and made for navy graduates from the 1980s, how old navy can be worn hip these days at my age makes me look im trying to retain my dumber younger days and or i have just accepted the fact that i love the sh***y clothing from old navy. because hey its old navy, after all. or i could go to the red headed stepchild of trendy fashion and plop on some aeropostale clothes. i have never understood how people wear that s**t either. but im a poor ass and ae is too expensive too. plus its the same hoodies and shirts with a different "worn" logo of ae plastered on it for 40.95 or something. i like my kohls and i like the unionbay, if its still around. but who the hell cares.

For those who like thrift shops, can you explain the appeal? It seems like you have to know something about style. You pick something out that's unique, that you hope makes you stand out in a good way. But if your fashion sense is off, you could look kind of foolish, no?

How far back do you go in what you buy? 10 years? 20? More?

1. Cheapness - I bought a pair of shoes and a pair of jeans for under a fiver recently ($10)
2. Quality - is usually really good, at least in the shops round here
3. Karma - any bad karma from sweatshop practices has been absorbed by the previous purchaser

I don't have an eeew, ick response to people's snot and sweat and bodily fluids. Is it germ phobia? I know a few aspies who have that.

I don't think I look like a rapper from 1996 :?. Haha maybe a metal head from the 1980's, but not a rapper. Carpenter jeans are just jeans with a wider pant leg and a few extra pockets at the top and a loop for a hammer... they look pretty cool with an awesome rock t-shirt on :P. Also, Hilfiger makes stuff that looks fairly nice shirt wise (They make solid colored clothing if you aren't into looking like an American flag), and it isn't that expensive... which seems to be what you're complaining about :?. Plus why would I care if I wear what's pre-dominant?... I'm friggin autistic, I don't care if I look like everyone else :?... I just care that I look nice to myself. Which actually get's me favor in the crowds I'm interested in anyway. I can look fairly nice for more important occasions or look like a rock-musician/artist... quite diverse :D. I don't care what the average joe NT thinks of me . Haha, and as stated I do mix and match clothing... there's no rule that states I have to wear only one brand of clothing at a time or the gods will smite me .

Yes, but the stuff looks nice . I already stated it's expensive. I've only got like 2 Hollister shirts... the trick is to just not ruin them :). Uh... but no, I couldn't wear Hollister every day anyway... there's no way I'd spend that much on a bunch of clothing for myself :|.
