I have some health problems and I sometimes feel kinda guilty about them, so I've never really faked illnesses. Even when I was younger. Also 'cause it's always stressed me out when I feel like I'm not being honest.

how does one fake spontaneous combustion? :lol:

You just hold your stomach and grimace and say 'I don't feel too good' and then explode in a ball of flame.

i faked illness a few times, especially for PE, but eventually just outright refused to go to school. it worked better.

Now I'm older and can pursue self directed and humane forms of exercise I really enjoy physical activity.

I also stopped going to school eventually. What a pointless waste of life those years were.

The fact that I spent much of childhood in a near-constant state of stomachache and low-grade fever made it very easy for me to say I wasn't feeling well and get out of school or spend time in the nurse's office. I hated school, so I did this from time to time. Most of the time I was telling the truth, though.

This is pretty much the case for me too. Not just with school but also for work, when I had an actual job, because it only got worse with age. (I'm self-employed now, so it's irrelevant.)

You can spontaneously combust if you don't do it regularly

I've faked illness MANY times.

In school I'd fake being ill to avoid handing in work, to avoid bullying, and to avoid giving talks in front of the class especially, I also have hypermenorrhagia ('women's problems') so had to fake being ill at least once a month to avoid the embarrassment that came from that. At work I used to fake illness a little bit too...until I started to realise that either;
A. I'd have to imagine myself feeling ill in order to try to lie about being ill, as a result I ended up making myself ill, purely psychosomatic.
B. I would just find I wouldn't be able to lie, I would always feel so anxious about lying that I'd spend the whole day feeling bad.
