how is it racist?? Sure maybe highlighting a certain ethnic group, but only for praise/enjoyment of their cultures etc etc

No one is saying asians are superior or inferior to any other race....so what's the problem?

there is a difference between noting and enjoying the high points of one's own culture, versus denigrating other cultures. nobody on this thread has been doing any of the latter, 'cept for one who knows who he is.

Yep. When I read about Chinese history I think about my ancestors in a way that's hard to explain. I think about the generations of women before my g.grandfather who probably had their feet bound, and the kind of foods they made and medicines they took, wars they experienced, etc. It's such a rich culture, I'm appreciative of my relatively small connection to it.

Also, there are many races in Asia, so it can't be racism.

can we get a white guy appreciation thread?

There's nothing about any one nationality that better or worse than any other.

white guys have already had the lions' share of appreciation threads throughout western history. it is time for others to be able to toot their horn now.

the term "race"...

we are a "race" of humans.

Crows are a murder
Jellyfish are a smack
Wolves are a pack

Humans are a race

Rats would be a colony, hoarde, plague, mischief or swarm.

Oh please. There is nothing wrong with making classifications based on ethic and cultural backgrounds. Saying "we are all part of the human race" is as ignorant as saying "we are all the same at the end of the day". It's condescending, and it simply ain't so.

But you said this is a racist thread.

Anyway, one could argue that humans are really more of an infestation. kekekeke
