I hate lying...I feel guilty about it, I'm bad at it, and I feel physically sick when I do it.

I can't even lie to save my life and I wouldn't want to be the one having to lie to people because I end up telling people the truth and that's what pretty much comes out my mouth most of the times.

Ah the art of the forked tongue, I know it well.

Hate it? Yes.

I hate lying too, and I only do it if I can get away with it and there's a good reason. I hate when people make up stories, especially since it seems like I get convinced more often than other people.

I hate lying because it's too stressful trying to keep up the lie. Also, I feel like most of the time I have nothing to lie about anyway.

It comes natural for me when I am embarrassed about something or ashamed.

I love truth. I don't like hypocrisy. These are but two of many reasons why I participate in the culture war about the teaching of evolution in public schools. I have studied this subject intensely for more than forty of my fifty years, especially the past thirty years. It is scary that nearly half the adults in the U.S.A. are so misinformed about this subject. It is as if half our adult population still thought the earth was flat and argued for giving equal time to the flat earth theory in public schools. Overwhelming evidence from all branches of science clearly shows evolution happens and humans have evolved from other species. That the public perception can be so different from the reality sometimes makes me feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone or the Dark Ages.

Those who argue against the teaching of evolution try to claim the moral high ground, but they are the ones spreading lies and distortions of the truth. Granted, most of those spreading these lies do so from ignorance, not malice, but how could all of them be so ignorant about what they are doing? Surely some of them KNOW they are lying, and do it anyway either for self-aggrandizement or because somehow they think they are helping God by spreading lies.

So yes, lying bothers me, especially when those doing it try to claim moral high ground and even more especially when they are lying to children and sabotaging their education. This also hurts our county's competitiveness in the global market, and could jeopardize the future of our species or our planet.

Totally hate lying too, why can't everyone be brutally honest? People need to stop living in a deluded fantasy.

the question is more 'who doesn't hate lying?' - that'd be a shorter list.
also the whole 'if you're my friend you'll lie for me' thing is just a guilt trip.

if it saves face or helps protect someone's feelings, I'll fib.

Otherwise, I don't like to lie. Makes me feel dirty.

Brutal honesty is sometimes warranted but other times, it can really hurt. I try to use my judgment. For example; if I had a model that I was really proud of and thought I did a really good job on and someone comes along and tells me I didn't do it right, there are seam lines, visible and obvious paintbrush strokes, I painted this the wrong color... I'd sure feel like crap. Best to tell someone they did a good job on it but maybe make a comment like, "looks like you're really picking up that technique well! Maybe on your next kit, you could do *blank*", or something.

"Yes, I lit that fire" or, "Yes, officer. It's my pot", I'd tell the truth to.

It's too difficult to lie... not to mention I don't like being lied to; therefore, I don't do it. Plus, it feels weird.

I really can't lie, the feeling is too uncomfortable.

I just can't lie, it almost hurts, it feels a little like the beginning of a meltdown inside, but accompanied with a pain in my stomach and an intense burning in my face. Lying to save others feelings doesn't work any better either, I'd rather just be honest and deal with things from there, or I'll do my very best to avoid saying the truth or telling a lie.

Even silly little lies, like if I've eaten all the chocolate biscuits...'No, I haven't eaten all the chocolate biscuits'...in other words 'I've eaten all the chocolate biscuits apart from the one you were lucky enough to get your hands on' - I start up with semantics, not even in a fun or cute way, I just try my hardest to avoid outright lying.

People can tell when I'm lying - basically because I try to get around lying rather than lying right-out, or because when I do lie right-out they can see it pains me to do so.
